Zing price

in Holozing Community6 months ago (edited)

In a couple days there will be liquid zing. My last post was about that and a little warnings here and there about providing liquidity and the risk involved with that, etc. In this post I wanted to talk a little about the price, it'll be a bit speculation and a bit what I think will support it.

To start off with, and this is kind of the easiest and most direct basis about its price, Hive Power delegations.

To earn Zing you currently need to either delegate, hold POSH or hold staked Zing. The distribution is 200k per day, 40k/day and 20k/day. With the current delegation of 1.6M, this results in about 400 Hive daily in curation rewards, these are rewards delegators are forfeiting which goes to the project to be used to further develop the game among other things.

So in a way, the 200k going out daily is worth about 400 Hive at the minimum which would bring the price of zing to 0.002 hive / zing. Now there are of course also another 60k going to POSH and staked Zing, and soon enough another 40k going to liquidity providers so let's call it a daily 300k zing going out which would bring the price down to 0.001333 hive / zing. I.e. selling past this price you're pretty much just losing value (unless you don't care cause the POSH you've held has been earned "freely" or you're looking to ROI on the POSH you've bought to get this zing or other reasons where you're just trying to get as much Hive from it as possible and won't care.

What this also tells people is that if the price of Zing goes lower than this, it is worth more to buy Zing than to delegate to earn. Will be interesting to see what happens at that point.

It will also be interesting to see when people start adding liquidity to earn more Zing cause keep in mind that when you add liquidity it takes into effect the price at the time as far as I'm aware.

It's also important to remember that there may also be people who can't delegate much currently but still want Zing to stake it for long term or to provide liquidity with it.

There's already quite a few factors at play here so will be interesting to see how things unfold once trading officially starts.

At this point in the post I kinda wanna talk about my own strategy to accumulate Zing. Of course not financial advice and I can't guarantee that what my plans are will happen so take it with a grain of salt.

I started unstaking Zing with one of my accounts after the first staked rewards occurred, I'll be using that small amount of Zing to provide liquidity, maybe even sell a little to get the price to a realistic number compared to a couple buy orders I saw on the market at 0.1-1 hive each. I started unstaking a couple other accounts with 1 day break so I'd get more Zing from their earnings after a day and two to provide liquidity. Keep in mind that LP rewards only reward you once every 24 hours and you will have to have been in the pool for at least 24 hours to begin with (not sure if the 24h rewards are at a certain time or how that works exactly, we'll have to see). So my goal there is to provide as much liquidity as I can for the 40k daily Zing rewards.

The thing with staking and Zing rewards is that they'll eventually find a balance. I.e. if I have too much Zing + Hive in the liquidity pool it means I'm getting less from there than if I just had the Zing staking instead and vice versa. You have to also account for the liquid Hive in this case where it would also be earning 8.5+3% APR if staked. This was one of the reasons we decided to have the LP provide a good chunk of distribution.

So my plans are to continuously delegate Hive Power for Zing, continue staking some Zing for the staking rewards, provide liquidity for the staking rewards and if I feel the price is a bit too low at times I'm going to scoop some Zing up and potentially provide more liquidity with that or stake it.

Similar to Hive, this is a longterm "investment" for me, i.e. a couple to 4-5 years, but of course if some crazy events would occur I would try to take profit if anything to maybe buy more for cheaper later. We know how crazy these markets can get. Another thing I'm going to be looking forward to, though, is to make use of my Zing in the game, host some tournaments, do some giveaways, tips in the discord, etc, all in good fun.

Anyway, looking forward to continue working on this game and am pretty excited of what it could become if things go well. Hoping to share more about it soon and talk more in posts such as these, thanks for reading!

I currently lack the resources to diversify (i.e. liquidity pool) my efforts in growing my ZING, especially since I've only started my journey within Hive in April 2023 and would love to continue growing my HP. For now, I'm maintaining my ZING stake and plan to delegate more HP to @zingtoken once I reach my next HP target 😁

I think I would be interested in providing some liquidity too with ZING. I am going to have to see how much I can accumulate and what I can pair that with.

Gaming currencies often lose value as the emission from different sources continues progressively. Although, the tokens with a back i.e. a reserved vault to hold 1 Zing = equivalent amount of any strong token Hive or BTC, it will help investors not to lose actual value if the project team allows a buyback style opportunity. Any Zing converted in the process burn. It is like holding a security and saving the real value to the token. Or It can be a similar method that is being used to stabilize the price of HBD using Hive Stabilizer.

Thanks a lot for the info man. I had some hesitations about this and I think I'll keep some liquid Zing. I might sell some Zing if the prices get crazy or I'll buy it if I see it's too low.

That's actully a really good way to given the token some type of value or how much value it should be. For myself I'm stackin away and will drop some in the liquidity pool when that time comes. When the game releases next year though it's going to get really crazy with price etc. never fails lol

Remember, if you want to grow, power down. The plan continues, and you need all the liquidity you have to set the exit price now and then re-enter when it drops. That's the plan.

That's why I'm not delegating too much to zing, but I have it on my radar. I didn't know whether to delegate everything and hope to get a lot, but that would stop the plan of waiting for the bull run. So it's better to stick to the plan.

Only time will tell if it was a good or bad decision, but what I do know is that I will enter when Hive goes through the roof. We'll be there to get those gems that will be cheap, and zing is one of them, rest assured. Just look at the initial price of SPS and the current one. Therefore, tomorrow those prices could be more worthwhile than today. That's the plan.

Good luck with the project; it looks great, and we'll be back soon. I don't know when, but I'll be back.

Have a great day.

best of luck to you too!

Thanks a Lot sr.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and plans in detail.
I currently have appx 1.5K $zing staked, and I am not sure if I need to wait a bit longer till I unstake, to provide liquidity, which is something I will definitely do.

I really appreciate these Zing topics from you. They give more information on the game and tokenomics, while also offering some strategies for people to think about. The computation for the Hive and equivalent Zing is interesting. I guess it is the current 'Peg' price if relating to SPL terms. I'm also expecting it to change once the game is out and demand for zing increases.

I'm really looking forward to this game going live.

I'm hoping it's just a fun game for the sake of a game unlike what SL ended up becoming!

If you want to nullify anyone's hopes about making money on the Zing token speculatively all you need to do is advertise the fact that there's a max supply of nine quadrillion!

Thanks foe the info

hey acid. I delegated 6.5k hp to zing after you first announced it. I have been very busy (still am) with work and I only just logged in to the official website. I can see my delegation but there doesnt seem to be an apr or any delegation rewards. Have I done something wrong?

Hmm if this is the first time you logged into the website it means it now first registered you :/

There's no APR yet since there's no price for zing, you should however start accumulating zing hourly now since you logged in, if it still doesn't show anything after 1-2h please let us know, but so far there haven't been any reported errors about it so I assume it's due to not having logged in until now.

ah yeh, just checked and i was able to make my first claim. sad i missed out on the early claims but ive just been too crazy busy to read things properly and make the clicks. Thanks for setting me straight ;)

Similar to Hive, this is a long-term "investment" for me, i.e. a couple to 4-5 years, but of course, if some crazy events would occur I would try to take profit if anything to maybe buy more for cheaper later.

This is a realistic approach. Thanks for providing such a timeframe.
