Greetings, community. After 4 long days of work, I can finally bring you another fan art drawing inspired by one of Holozing's creatures. This time I wanted to make a mix between the two evolutions of the ice type dragons and my own female version of one of them. For the model of the characters I was inspired by a drawing of Elsa from Frozen and the meme of the three-headed dragon. But before I continue, I want to share with you a peculiar story that gives life to the drawing.

The story goes that in the realm of dragons, every little Glacion-type dragon evolved into a powerful Glaciox when it came of age. But, as fate would have it, two little Glacion, when they evolved, woke up looking different, but not as they imagined.

Saludos, comunidad. Luego de 4 largos días de trabajo, al fin puedo traerles otro dibujo fan art inspirado en una de las criaturas de Holozing. Esta vez quise hacer una mezcla entre las dos evoluciones de los dragones de tipo hielo y mi propia versión femenina de uno de ellos. Para el modelo de los personajes me inspiré en un dibujo de Elsa de Frozen y en el meme del dragón de las tres cabezas. Pero antes de continuar, quiero compartirles una historia peculiar que da vida al dibujo.

Cuentan que en el reino de los dragones, cada pequeño dragón de tipo Glacion evolucionaba a un poderoso Glaciox cuando llegaba a la mayoría de edad. Pero, por cosas del destino, dos pequeños Glacion, al momento de evolucionar, despertaron viéndose diferentes, pero no como se lo imaginaban.

With one of them everything had gone well, but the other had adopted a semi-human form. To be more specific, in his reflection he saw a dragon girl with very pale skin, thin and with long hair. On her head she wore an antler of magical ice, the most beautiful they had seen in a long time.

Anyone would think that this would be something to be alarmed about, but it was not the first time it happened, since this evolution occurred when a new queen of the ice dragons was needed, who adopted this beautiful form to be able to interact with the other beings of the planet. And so legend has it that in many battlefields the ice dragon queen was seen accompanied by her faithful companion and guardian Glaciox.

Con uno de ellos todo había salido bien, pero el otro había adoptado una forma semi-humana. Para más concreto, en su reflejo veía a una chica dragón de piel muy pálida, delgada y con cabellera larga. En su cabeza portaba una cornamenta de hielo mágico, la más bella que habían visto en mucho tiempo.

Cualquiera pensaría que esto sería cosa de alarmarse, pero no era la primera vez que pasaba, pues esta evolución ocurría cuando era necesaria una nueva reina de los dragones de hielo, la cual adoptaba esta hermosa forma para poder interactuar con los demás seres del planeta. Y así cuenta la leyenda que en muchos campos de batalla se vio a la reina dragón de hielo acompañada de su fiel compañero y guardián Glaciox.

Step by step // Paso a paso

I started by making a sketch to get an idea of how to integrate the two characters in the drawing. I marked the outline of the girl's body and hair and then, in the upper left part, I placed the dragon's head. Then I increased the thickness of the brush and highlighted the areas that I had to prioritize, while I separated them with strokes that had the colors I was going to use.

Comencé haciendo un boceto para tener una idea de cómo ir integrando los dos personajes en el dibujo. Marqué el contorno que abarca el cuerpo y el cabello de la chica para luego, en la parte superior izquierda, ubicar la cabeza del dragón. Luego aumenté el grosor del pincel y fui remarcando las zonas que debía priorizar, a la vez que las separé con trazos que tenían los colores que iba a utilizar.

Next, I draw the first part of the line art focusing on the detailed silhouette of the girl with the hair and pointed ears. Then, I added the details of the clothes, the horns and the accessories. In the end, the last part of the line art consisted of the dragon's face, one of its wings shown on the left side and two ice fragments emerging at the bottom from the center outwards to cover the lower part of the drawing.

Sorry if the strokes are barely visible, but I was using a brush called Smooth Pen with a width of 1 px.

A continuación, dibujo la primera parte del line art enfocándome en la silueta detallada de la chica con el cabello y las orejas puntiagudas. Luego, agregué los detalles de la ropa, los cuernos y los accesorios. Al final, la última parte del line art estuvo conformada por el rostro del dragón, una de sus alas que se muestra en el lado izquierdo y dos fragmentos de hielo que surgen en la parte inferior desde el centro hacia afuera para cubrir la parte baja del dibujo.

Disculpen si los trazos son apenas visibles, pero es que estaba utilizando un pincel llamado Pluma Suave con una anchura de 1 px.

Once the design was ready, I started to add color, focusing first on the girl's hair, her skin and the color of the clothes and gloves. Then I went on to draw the ice effect of the horns and the ice fragments of the lower part. For these elements I used a technique that consists of separating the desired area in small sections and, with the same blue color, varying the tones in each of its areas, graduating the luminosity in a descending direction. Thus achieving the appearance that they reflect the light as would an ice crystal.

Una vez el diseño estuvo listo, comencé a dar color, enfocándome primeramente en el cabello de la chica, su piel y el color de la ropa y guantes. Luego pasé a dibujar el efecto hielo de los cuernos y los propios fragmentos de hielo de la parte baja. Para estos elementos empleé una técnica que consiste en separar el área deseada en pequeñas secciones y, con un mismo color azul, ir variando los tonos en cada una de sus áreas, graduando la luminosidad en sentido descendente. Logrando así la apariencia de que reflejan la luz como lo haría un cristal de hielo.

Next, I color the dragon and the girl's tail and then move on to the wing on the other side. At the time I wanted to do the same with the dragon's horns as I did with the girl's, but I felt that it would take away from its prominence and I changed my mind.

Seguidamente, doy color al dragón y a la cola de la chica para luego pasar al ala del otro lado. En su momento quise hacer con los cuernos del dragón lo mismo que hice con los de la chica, pero sentí que le quitaría protagonismo y cambié de idea.

Once I managed to have a uniform layer of color in each area, I started to add some shiny details, which were more focused on the dragon's head and the girl's hair. After I started to add the shadows was when the drawing really started to come to life and little by little it lost the 2D drawing feeling it was conveying.

Una vez que logré tener una capa de color uniforme en cada área, empecé a agregar algunos detalles de brillo, los cuales se centraban más en la cabeza del dragón y el cabello de la chica. Luego de empezar a agregar las sombras fue cuando de verdad empezó a cobrar vida el dibujo y poco a poco fue perdiendo la sensación de dibujo 2D que transmitía.

Finally, I modified a little the colors of the image using the remaster and accentuate functions that the gallery of my phone has, leaving the finished drawing like this.

Para finalizar, modifiqué un poco los colores de la imagen utilizando las funciones de remasterizar y acentuar que posee la galería de mi teléfono, quedando el dibujo terminado de esta forma.
