A new character available for the game, Zingu, was recently revealed in the community. He's a pretty cool designed penguin, ice-like and very charming, or at least I like him.

Although I said I was going to start making the evolutions, I actually made Waller, but I remembered I hadn't made Zingu, so I got to work and finished this figurine.

Hace poco se reveló en la comunidad un nuevo personaje disponible para el juego, Zingu. Es un pinguino con un diseño bastante genial, tipo hielo y muy encantador, o al menos a mi me gusta.

Aunque dije que iba a empezar a hacer las evoluciones, de hecho hice a Waller, pero recordé que no había hecho a Zingu, así que puse manos a la obra y terminé esta figurita.

Step by step

It's a small character, but I didn't want to make it so tiny compared to the others, so I made it with a good size but I used a lot of stuffing for the sculpture, using paper and tape to give volume to the parts that compose it. Of course, I used wire for the support.

Es un personaje pequeño, pero no quise hacerlo tan diminuto en comparación a los otros, así que lo hice con un buen tamaño pero usé mucho relleno para la escultura, usando papel y cinta adhesiva para darle volumen a las partes que lo componen. Por supuesto, usé alambre para el soporte.

Here I started to cover the skeleton with some blue. I didn't use a very opaque blue, but two shades of blue, a light one for the lower part and a darker one for the upper part.

In the lower part I covered everything, even the legs, although I didn't do the legs because I felt that they would be damaged during the manipulation of the figure.

Aquí comencé a cubrir el esqueleto con un poco de azul. No usé un azul tan opaco, sino dos tonalidades de azul, una clara para la parte inferior y otras mas oscuro para la parte superior.

En la parte inferior cubrí todo, hasta las piernitas, aunque no hice las patas porque sentí que se dañarían durante la manipulación de la figura.

In the upper part it was like making a nightgown that covered all the material that served as filling for the sculpture.

As soon as I covered the whole area with plasticine, I made the fins in the same color as the upper part, partially covering the wire that had been used as a support.

En la parte superior fue como hacer un camisón que cubriera todo el material que servía de relleno para la escultura.

Tan pronto cubrí toda el área con plastilina, hice las aletas del mismo color que la parte superior, cubriendo parcialmente el alambre que le había hecho de soporte.

Continuing with the fins, I made the tip. These fin tips were ice, according to the reference drawing, so I had to use a light blue color that looked similar to this ice.

That's what I did, I took some blue plasticine and covered the tip of the fins, creating a pointed shape, similar to ice spikes.

Continuando con las aletas, le hice la punta. Estas puntas de las aletas eran de hielo, según el dibujo de referencia, así que debía usar un color azul claro que se viese de manera similar a este hielo.

Eso hice, tomé un poco de plastilina azul y cubrí la punta de las aletas, creando una forma puntiaguda, similar a picos de hielo.

After finishing this, I took a piece of white plasticine and stretched it to make the part of the abdomem, which is all white and covers the whole part of the chest. This part of plasticine I stretched it and then cut it with the cutter, to achieve the shape you can see in the image below.

Después de terminar esto, tomé un trozo de plastilina blanca y la estiré para hacer la parte del abdomem, que es toda blanca y abarcan toda la parte del pecho. Esta parte de plastilina la estiré y luego la corté con el cutter, para lograr la forma que pueden ver en la imagen de abajo.

For the head I used the paper semi-sphere that you saw above. I covered it with all the dark plasticine with which I also covered the rest of the figure.

I had a hard time making this piece because it is a semi spherical piece and I couldn't mold it completely because the paper stuffing was very rigid, so it took a while but I managed to give it the desired shape.

Para la cabeza usé la semi esfera de papel que vieron más arriba. La cubrí con toda la plastilina oscura con al que también cubrí el resto de la figura.

Me costó hacer esta pieza porque es una pieza semi esférica y no podía moldearla del todo porque el relleno de papel era muy rígido, así que costó un poco pero logré darle la forma deseada.

The next thing was to create that white shape that Zingu has on his face. I did the same as with the abdomen, I took a piece of white plasticine and stretched it, then I cut it with the shape I wanted, being custo as you can see in the image below:

Lo siguiente fue crear esa forma blanca que tiene Zingu en la cara. Lo hice igual que con el abdomen, tomé un trozo de plastilina blaca y lo estiré, luego lo corté con la forma que deseaba, quedando custo como se ve en la imagen de abajo:

The last thing I did was to add all the details of the face, like the beak, the eyes, the yellow ornaments above the eyes and that sort of crystal on his forehead.

Lo último que hice fue agregar todos los detalles de la cara, como el pico, los ojos, los adornos amarillos encima de los ojos y esa suerte de cristal que tiene en la frente.
