Holo!
Been a while we've revealed new creatures, a lot going on but we thought we'd take the time to show you some more creatures that have joined our roster. These ones are going to be quite special even though they're normal and flying type!
First, let's take a closer look!
Meet Chirple, our first flying type creature that you'll be able to capture in the wild. This creature is special because unlike the other ones, he'll be able to say a few words similar to parrots! We have some fun ideas in mind when this creature is on the battlefield, such as having him yell out "HEAL ME" when he gets low on health. He might even compliment you here and there if you're doing well as a healer or when you successfully capture a wild creature!
His evolution, Chirpily is a lot bigger and wiser and may know a few more words or sentences. Maybe the community may have some more ideas to provide us with to include on things to say!
These will be normal and flying type, they'll be able to learn moves specific to flying creatures and maybe they'll also be able to fetch your mail for you!
We now have 5 capturable creatures finished along with Miu, MiuMiu and MiuMiuMiu, and will be working on turning them into 3d. We have been hard at work in the backend and have also finished the second evolutions of all the starters and the 3d versions of their first evolutions. We still have some art-related fine-tuning ahead of us before we reveal the starter evolutions as we want to take good time and do it properly within this project!

How many creatures you guys will be adding in the game? Is it like other games where the developers keep adding new creatures after a particular time period? Will there be a ghost type 😈?
We won't be adding those types yet, they will however come with their own healer class eventually!
We plan on adding about 50 in total for the beta, they may roll in over time instead of in batches after we make sure they're balanced and glitch-free in the test version prior.
Who are eligible to get beta access? Will this game be available for pc only during the initial release?
We plan on having a closed alpha here very soon, that will be invite-only and a very small group, then the starter sale and for a short time open alpha where players can try their starter items and a temporary healer and their creatures. Then healer sale and fterwards, we wipe all progress and start the beta which will be accessible by everyone with a healer and starter pack.
You mentioned that the healer and starter pack sale here so does that mean the creatures are free to use forever by everyone once found and captured, yes? If so, is the capturing mechanism similar to the Pokemon game? Will we see a Zingball update soon😁?
Capturable creatures will be able to be used forever, yes, there are some restrictions, though. They will need to either be healed for HP or generate by resting with food & water. This will also regenerate their moves so you can use them again in your next battles.
The creatures will be tradable and delegatable so others can use your captured creatures, starter creatures as well. We also plan on allowing players to "set creatures free" while getting some zing back for doing so.
In Holozing, creatures are captured within cards. We felt that cards are much more practical and a lot cooler to have a deck of cards when picking what creature you want to play with or when switching from one to another. We have also designed a capture device from scratch that we will be revealing next, however we think the alpha cards we're going to not reveal until you purchase packs and see for yourself!

They look very cute. I especially like the effect of the orange on Chirple's beak making it look a bit silly. As for the additional things to say, they can say "It's not over yet" or "It's time to get serious" when their HP gets low [That's what Megaman and Zero say in a game.]. They can also "Too fast/slow" when they attack first, "Run away" when running away/surrendering, and "Take that" on crits. They can probably give hints on whether their attack was effective/not effective against an opponent; "This isn't working" or "That's gotta hurt". When summoned, they can say "Let me at 'em". There are a lot of possibilities, especially when beating an enemy; "Got 'em", "Booyah", "I'm the best", etc.
That was just if the Chirple personality was angsty or rugged. You can also go kind of formal/majestic with Chirpily. Lots of Warcraft 2 unit sounds come to mind. "Your orders?" "By your command".

Yeah a lot of funding will have to go to 3d, the healers will be especially expensive. 😅
But we hope it's going to be worth it as the first proper 3d game on hive!

promotion has a lot of meanings, but we do want to accept other coins and offer free hive accounts to those interested in buying through metamask, etc.
Based on how starter sale goes and potential trading fees from secondary markets we may start doing some proper outside promotions as well yeah. Though we gotta make sure the foundation is laid out so we have a runway of funds for growth first and to scale the team to release things faster as many keep asking about constantly. :D
This character looks amazing, I even imagined him as a phoenix if they would incorporate items to customize the Holo.✨
This will be the first flying creature and could give some advantage on battle. Seems like I have another bird to love aside from Pii-chan.

Yeah, I am always happy with who so ever is working on the designs as artist. They really deserves all the respect for each and every design they have come up with. I hope there will be a section on the holozing page where we will be able to know these artists. Just a idea.

They are excellent, especially in the details. I like the way the plumage stands out in Chirpily as well as the bright colors.
One question, do you have any dragon-like creatures planned for the beta, or will you have to wait for other expansions?
I'm really excited about the project, I really want to play it and see how the mechanics will be. On the other hand, do you have a story mode planned or will it just be about capturing creatures and playing against other players?
Dragon-like creatures will exist before the beta, it just takes time to finalize each idea and on top of it to 3d them. There are however certain types we won't be adding yet as they will accompany a new healer type later instead.
Perfect, I read in another comment that you plan to release 50 creatures first. Do you plan to show them before starting or will some of them be surprises?
That'll be throughout the beta, so we'll add new creatures over time that players can catch.
We might leave some for surprises by then sure

I would love to be part of the Closed Alpha, and if wanted would create a video for my youtube channel. Quite some time, since I did the last one (Summer 2023). But Holozing could bring me to do this again.

Haha we're actually keeping the closed alpha small for the very purpose that there's no leaks and recordings since we won't have everything turned into 3d yet and wouldn't want to shoo people off with some of the borrowed assets we'll be using while balancing and fixing bugs during it.

The characters are becoming more and more beautiful. I loved this. 😍.
I wondered if we can request any characters?. I like hummingbirds and it would be nice to see him be part of the game. It would be a great companion for the forest healer.
We hope to have this process more streamlined in the future when we can create them faster and more often to accept suggestions, currently we have to think long and hard about the next capturable creatures with limited funding and manpower.
I hope that one day, when cultural creatures are more common they can oblige this request 🥹 ... it would be nice....
Now I can say that this is one of the Holozing creatures that I like the most and when it evolves I like it much more. What a beauty, congratulations to its designer.

Wow, I really love this Chirple. It's so colorful like a paradise bird and looks mesmerizing when upgraded to Chirpily. But @Acidyo I also have a question, will we not see 3 evolving stages like we saw with Miu with this one?

No this one will only have 1 evolution.
I'd be careful with that opening image. That seems too close to pokemon. Look at some of the other monster series from asia. The only other one I am familiar with is digimon but I'm sure those were not the only two.
I understand what you're saying, but these are just for the reveal posts, we won't be using the same thing for the game or a potential anime. It also has a different use case here for revealing new creatures we're adding to the roster and not like in pokemon where it's a questionnaire/minigame where you have to try and guess the existing pokemon you may already have seen before.
