Hey hey, nite nite! How's it goin' tonight?
Been a while since I did a drawing inspired by one of @holozing’s characters. I was checkin’ them out again, and there are some cute new pets prettyyyyy cool!
There’s this tiny, curious lil’ creature that totally caught my eye, so I had to draw it!
It kinda reminded me of Anubis, the Egyptian god of death… oh, and now that I think about it, there’s also a Pokémon lol. Anyway, at that moment, it caught my attention, so I just went for it.
I know I’ve said before that I made the video and was gonna show y’all, but I haven’t... Holly Ghost! 😆 There are just so many hahaha, and even if I try to clean them up a bit, I never finish editing them. Well, at least until my PC runs out of memory lol.
I did make a vid, but here are some pics instead 😋
I started with some simple lines as a guide, nothing too detailed or fancy. A single layer from start to finish. Sometimes I add a few details on another layer, then I just collapse it all | I kinda like working on a single layer, tbh. Little by little, I shaped what was basically nothing before. At this point, you could actually tell there was a face and all that. |

I knew I didn’t wanna make everything super detailed or super smooth, y’know? Haha. I tend to do drawings where the skin looks soft with minimal details, but not always. I actually like those sketches that look kinda loose. An artist I used to watch once said that strokes and textures can tell a lot, and I really vibe with that .. though I don’t always go for it. | Anyway, back to the portrait. When I saw Holozing’s mascot, the first thing that popped into my head was Anubis. I imagined it with some gold details hmmmm super typical for them. I made a few small changes and added the ears, but kinda blended them into the golden details on her head, along with some other little things. |

So to finish up, I had to refine the face a bit, tweak the gold details, add some shine, adjust some colors ooohh, and I also changed the tail’s position.
BTW, I’ve been drawing more in Corel Painter lately! Did this one there. After all my little ‘research,’ seems like Corel Painter eats up more PC resources than PS… Hmmm soo maybe that’s why it goes crazy sometimes lol. But I still like using it, just gotta be more careful with it
Awesome art at once. I'm impressed. Thanks for sharing.
