Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog
Hoy me gustaría unirme a la iniciativa de la amiga @lilianajimenez y hablarles un poco de mi historia con la música y lo que representa para mí, actualmente no soy una persona que escucha música diariamente, es más, en mi teléfono no tengo ninguna lista de reproducción ni siquiera una que escuché ocasionalmente, mi tiempo libre lo uso viendo películas y leyendo, y soy de las personas que si escucha música mientras trabaja se desconcentra y como la mayor parte del tiempo la ocupo trabajando entonces no puedo escuchar música y cuando no estoy trabajando en mi tiempo a solas estoy leyendo o viendo películas, entonces no escucho música.
Pero eso no quiere decir que no me gusta la música, que no baile (porque me encanta bailar) es una de las cosas que más adoro en la vida, solo que escucho música en ocasiones, como un fin de semana en el que esté limpiando la casa o en una reunión o cuando estoy compartiendo con mi esposo, que por cierto él sí escucha música todos los días a cada rato, igualmente mis hijos tienen muchísima música de todo tipo en sus teléfonos y pasan todo el día escuchando música, la extraña de la casa soy yo.
Creo que lo primero que recuerdo musicalmente hablando es a mi papá, esa es la referencia musical que tengo desde pequeña, porque su cantante favorito es Leo Dan que casualmente falleció hace pocas semanas y en mi casa desde pequeña mi papá tenía discos de acetato, aquellos discos que tenían la letra escrita en la carátula y entonces en las tardes mi papá colocaba a sonar esos discos, así como los de José Luis Perales, pero Leo dan es el que más se quedó grabado en mí, entonces con la carátula me iba guiando y así me aprendí muchas canciones de Leo Dan. Yo escucho esa música y es recordar a mi papá por toda la casa cantando, se metía al baño y se oía en toda la casa, a medida que fui creciendo eso no cambió porque salía con mi papá de paseo o lo acompañaba a hacer una diligencia y en el carro siempre sonaba Leo dan, entonces coreábamos sus canciones todo el trayecto.
Cuando me hice una adolescente fue cuando empecé a escuchar otro tipo de música y ahí nos vamos a la parte cultural, soy del estado Táchira en Venezuela y allá por estar tan cerca de la frontera con Colombia se escucha mucho vallenato, el vallenato es parte de la cultura del andino no sé si en todas las zonas andinas pero donde yo crecí se oía más vallenato que la misma música tradicional que es el merengue campesino, así que era inevitable que no me gustara el vallenato, pero no del vallenato guarachero sino más bien el romántico. Todas las tardes era la música que se escuchaba (en aquel momento no me gustaba tanto leer), si salía con mis amigos y en las fiestas. Todavía cuando me pongo a limpiar en mi casa coloco vallenato, eso me hace recordar mi adolescencia cuando limpiaba en casa de mi mamá los fines de semana, cuando hacíamos jornadas de limpieza mi hermana y yo y lo que escuchábamos era vallenato.
Como en aquel entonces no existía el internet, se estaban empezando a escuchar los CD, entonces normalmente todo lo escuchábamos en cassette o en la radio, en las tardes las emisoras de radio hacían programas vallenateros y terminaba en una emisora y la cambiamos a la otra donde iba a comenzar un programa igual 🤣🤣. El caso es que grabábamos en cassette las canciones que estaban de moda para luego transcribir la letra en un cuaderno y podernos aprender los vallenatos, imagínense eso, por eso me sé muchos vallenatos. Actualmente no me importa que digan que el vallenato es para despechados, porque hay mucha gente que no les gusta vallenato y lo critican porque sus letras mayormente están dirigidas al amor y al despecho, es verdad, pero para mí el vallenato no me transmite despecho y tristeza o será que yo no me despecho con el vallenato, no es algo que me haga sentir tristeza.
Después de salir de la adolescencia y de mi pueblo (me fui a vivir a la ciudad) el vallenato ya no era de todos los días y me enamoré de Ricardo Arjona 😍, me incline a escuchar música romántica Franco de Vita, Sin Banderas Camila, en aquel momento si tenía muchas canciones en mi teléfono y aún cuando me provoca escuchar música para mí sola, es el género y los artistas que me gusta escuchar 😍
En cuanto al baile como dije y lo he dicho en varias de mis publicaciones, me encanta bailar 💃🏻, bailo desde los 12 años y como crecí en un pueblo pequeño donde todo el pueblo se conocía, salía a fiestas (aunque no a esa edad), y lo hacía para bailar, pasaba toda la fiesta literalmente bailando, eso no cambió ni en el liceo, ni en la universidad, ni cuando empecé a trabajar y salía con mis amigos, siempre me ha gustado salir a bailar, y en mi casa cuando mi esposo pone música, porque ya les dije que escucha mucha música los fines de semana, bailo así sea sola en la cocina porque su gusto musical es muy variado desde merengue, salsa, vallenato, rock pop y si le damos el control a mis hijos entonces escuchamos a Bad Bunny, Karol G y un montón de cantantes que nosotros como padres no conocemos pero que gracias a nuestros hijos hemos escuchado.
En ocasiones agarro mi hijo para bailar, siento que lo enseñé a bailar porque desde pequeño mientras escuchábamos música yo le decía, vente vamos a bailar! y le enseñaba los pasos básicos para bailar salsa y merengue, en aquel momento él no bailaba nada, ahora sí le gusta bailar, entonces me alegra mucho haber contribuido a que ahora a sus 15 años pueda decir que no solamente mueve la cabeza sino que es un bailarín que va a fiestas con adultos y baila salsa, merengue y lo que le pongan, entonces eso me alegra.
Para concluir me gustaría decirles, porque he leído varias publicaciones de personas muy aficionadas a la música y mientras las leía pensaba ¿será que a mí me falta algo por no escuchar la cantidad de música que escuchan otras personas? pero me doy cuenta que no, porque he crecido con la música, aunque actualmente no la escuche todos los días, me gusta escuchar música, me gusta bailar y disfruto de la buena música.

Today I would like to join the initiative of my friend @lilianajimenez and tell you a little about my history with music and what it represents for me, currently I am not a person who listens to music daily, in fact, in my phone I don’t have any playlist not even one that I listened to occasionally, my free time is spent watching movies and reading, and I’m one of those people that if I listen to music while working I lose concentration and since most of my time is spent working then I can’t listen to music and when I’m not working in my alone time I’m reading or watching movies, so I don’t listen to music.
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t like music, that I don’t dance (because I love dancing) it is one of the things I love most in life, I just listen to music sometimes, like on a weekend when I am cleaning the house or in a meeting or when I am sharing with my husband, who by the way he listens to music every day all the time, also my kids have a lot of music of all kinds on their phones and spend all day listening to music, the stranger in the house is me.
I think the first thing I remember musically speaking is my dad, that is the musical reference I have since I was a child, because his favorite singer is Leo Dan who coincidentally died a few weeks ago and in my house since I was little my dad had acetate records, those records that had the lyrics written on the cover and then in the evenings my dad would play those records, as well as those of José Luis Perales, but Leo Dan is the one that stuck with me the most, then with the cover he would guide me and so I learned many Leo Dan’s songs. I listen to that music and I remember my dad singing all over the house, he would go into the bathroom and you could hear it all over the house, as I grew up that did not change because I would go out with my dad for a walk or accompany him on an errand and Leo Dan was always playing in the car, so we would chant his songs all the way.
When I became a teenager was when I started to listen to other types of music and there we go to the cultural part, I am from the state of Táchira in Venezuela and there, being so close to the border with Colombia, you hear a lot of vallenato, vallenato is part of the Andean culture, I don’t know if in all the Andean areas but where I grew up you could hear more vallenato than the traditional music itself which is the peasant merengue, so it was inevitable that I didn’t like vallenato, but not the guarachero vallenato but rather the romantic one. Every evening it was the music to listen to (at that time I didn’t like to read so much), if I went out with my friends and at parties. I still play vallenato when I clean my house, it reminds me of my adolescence when I used to clean my mother’s house on weekends, when my sister and I used to do cleaning days and what we listened to was vallenato.
As at that time there was no internet, CD’s were just starting to be listened to, then normally we listened to everything on cassette or on the radio, in the afternoons the radio stations did vallenato programs and it ended on one station and we changed it to the other where it was going to start an equal program 🤣🤣. The thing is that we would record on cassette the songs that were in fashion and then transcribe the lyrics in a notebook and we could learn the vallenatos, imagine that, that’s why I know many vallenatos. Nowadays I don’t care if they say that vallenato is for the scorned, because there are many people who don’t like vallenato and criticize it because its lyrics are mostly directed to love and scorn, it’s true, but for me vallenato doesn’t transmit me scorn and sadness or maybe I don’t feel scorn with vallenato, it’s not something that makes me feel sadness.
After I left my adolescence and my town (I went to live in the city) vallenato was no longer everyday and I fell in love with Ricardo Arjona 😍, I was inclined to listen to romantic music Franco de Vita, Sin Banderas Camila, at that time I had many songs on my phone and even when it provokes me to listen to music for myself alone, it is the genre and artists that I like to listen 😍.
As for dancing as I said and I have said in several of my publications, I love to dance 💃🏻, I dance since I was 12 years old and as I grew up in a small town where the whole town knew each other, I went out to parties (although not at that age), and I did it to dance, I spent the whole party literally dancing, that did not change neither in high school, nor in college, nor when I started working and went out with my friends, I have always liked to go out dancing, and in my house when my husband plays music, because I told you he listens to a lot of music on the weekends, I dance even alone in the kitchen because his musical taste is very varied from merengue, salsa, vallenato, pop rock and if we give control to my children then we listen to Bad Bunny, Karol G and a lot of singers that we as parents do not know but thanks to our children we have heard.
Sometimes I grab my son to dance, I feel that I taught him to dance because since he was little while we listened to music I told him, come on let’s dance! And I taught him the basic steps to dance salsa and merengue, at that time he did not dance at all, now he likes to dance, so I am very happy to have contributed to the fact that now at 15 years old he can say that he not only moves his head but he is a dancer who goes to parties with adults and dances salsa, merengue and whatever they put him, so I’m glad about that.
To conclude I would like to tell you, because I have read several publications of people very fond of music and while I was reading them I was thinking, could it be that I am missing something because I do not listen to the amount of music that other people listen to, but I realice that I am not, because I have grown up with music, although I do not listen to it every day, I like to listen to music, I like to dance and I enjoy good music.
Gran parte de mi gusto musical, lo heredé de mis padres, así como el tuyo, crecí escuchando a muchos artistas de la época de mi papá y hoy en día me encantan. El vallenato también ganó un espacio en mi repertorio, y es que bueno, escucho de todo. También soy una lectora empedernida, amo leer, sin embargo, si leo con fondo musical o trabajo con algún fondo musical. La música es lo máximo, y me alegra mucho que te unieras a la iniciativa.
