Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share a few photos after a recent snow storm we had!

Snowy Walk Monochrome Monday

Snow storms.. one of my favorite things!

There are a lot of people where I live that dislike the snow a lot, and that makes me laugh a little bit. There are millions of people in the world that have never seen or experienced snow. I guess we take for granted the things that we get to see without a second thought, while others would love to experience or live somewhere that gets things like snow. For me though, I highly enjoy the snow and actually look forward to when it arrives!

We finally got some decent snow this year. The past few years have been pretty mild for the winter time, which isn't a bad thing that's for sure, but it does get kind of boring! There isn't much to do when the weather is bitter cold out, so that's not very fun. At least with snow, there are plenty of activities one can do out there!

The little man and I took a little walk in the snow the other day which was nice. We got to spend about an hour at a place that we visited before, and has a decent little walking path along the river. We decided to take a jaunt over there again and get some more enjoyment out of it!

It was pretty cool because there wasn't anyone who had walked on it yet besides a few animals. Those animals are certainly just doing their normal stuff but they are also likely enjoying the snow, as it gives them other things to do such as make burrows and stuff to hide from the cold. Surprisingly, the animals have adapted pretty well to the crazy cold temperatures. I wasn't sure if I was going to see a bunch of dead birds and stuff because it's been as cold as it has, but those fluffy shits are hanging in there just fine!

During one of the storms, I actually had to go to work to my contracting job. That was fun because it's been a while since I've driven in the actual snow. My wife absolutely hates it as she's scared that she's going to crash so she doesn't go out in it. For me though, I've been snowboarding and stuff for many years so I'm used to driving in the snow. Perhaps it's also just a guy thing? We like the challenge, because it's our job to do the stuff that is slightly risky but important for us to do our jobs as men.

With the storm though, that meant that I got to take some cool photos of the area after the day was done! I enjoyed seeing the tiny little forested area next door. I was sad that it didn't have any type of walking trail, as this was for sure a perfect opportunity to go out for a nice little hike. I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to take my son on some hikes in the winter again, we've not done it in a few years and I think at this point it's not in the cards but that's okay, we will have more time in the future that's for sure!

Hive Power Up Day - March 1st 2025

Yes friend you are right we Bangladesh usually see such light snow during deep winter. For example, the roads are wet and light water forms. It seems that standing for ten minutes will cool and soak the whole body just like that. But I have never seen such deep snow. I had no chance to go to such a place. But such a place should I ever find time and inspire interest. Only then can I enjoy such a city and its beauty. But friend you will definitely eat hot food here which will give you a chance to have a good time. I hope that these difficult moments of yours are beautiful.

We definitely tend to take granted of something we've normally seen in our day-to-day life 😆 I remember being sent a picture of snow and the sky was as clear as water. It looks so stunning. I always thought snow would only come around December but apparently in Texas, they also come around early to mid February.

I think what I hate most about this winter is we never got a good deep snow. Just a few inches at a time. That and it seemed so cold all year. Then again we aren;'t as far north as some. We have had a real wet winter, lots of rain and small snow falls. The ground is so muddy and soggy. I am just ready for spring and the thaw. Ready for some fishing so I can get out and enjoy the new colors and bringing of life that it brings.

Temps over here kicked up to the mid 40's and most of our snow is almost gone now. I actually wore my spring coat to work today. It's going to be a hot sloppy mess pretty soon!
