Havana in Photo [EN/ES]

Whenever I walk around Havana I love to take pictures without following a specific theme. I simply photograph whatever catches my eye, a house, a building, a wall, people walking down the street. It's those spontaneous images that I enjoy the most, because when I review them I discover details that went unnoticed at the time. Sometimes I discover more details in the photos than when I am in the place where I took it.

In this post I share some of my favourite photos from my last visit. It was an extensive tour, I walked a lot, and as something new I decided to take pictures on the way from the taxi, so I also include some of the journey, of what I saw through the window as I approached Old Havana.

The fascinating thing about Old Havana is that no matter where you look, there is always something interesting. Its architecture is undoubtedly the most attractive, with its imposing buildings and colonial history. But if we leave aside the grandeur of its monuments and look at the everyday, we discover that we connect more with the special harmony of the surroundings.

The magic of Havana is also in the details that make it unique, and this is the best way to immerse yourself in the experience of walking through its streets.

Cada vez que paseo por La Habana me encanta tomar fotografías sin seguir un tema específico. Simplemente fotografío lo que llama mi atención, una casa, un edificio, una pared, la gente caminando por la calle. Son esas imágenes espontáneas las que más disfruto, porque al revisarlas descubro detalles que pasaron desapercibidos en el momento. A veces descubro más detalles en las fotos que cuando estoy en el lugar donde la tomé.

En esta publicación comparto algunas de mis fotos favoritas en mi última visita. Fue un recorrido extenso, caminé bastante, y como algo nuevo decidí tomar imágenes en el recorrido desde el taxi, así que también incluyo algunas del trayecto, de lo que veía por la ventanilla mientras me acercaba a La Habana Vieja.

Lo fascinante de La Habana Vieja es que sin importar a dónde se mire, siempre hay algo interesante. Su arquitectura es sin duda lo más atractivo, con sus imponentes edificaciones y su historia colonial. Pero si dejamos de lado la grandeza de sus monumentos y nos fijamos en lo cotidiano, descubrimos que nos conectamos más con la armonía tan especial del entorno.

La magia de la Habana esta también, en los detalles que la hacen única, y es la mejor manera de sumergirse en la experiencia de caminar por sus calles.
