Hello friends of Hive! Happy Wednesday, today I was taking some pictures trying various forms of combinations with light.
Hola amigos de Hive! Feliz Miércoles, el día de hoy estuve haciendo algunas fotografías probando varias formas de combinaciones con la luz.
Some years ago, when I was studying audiovisual sciences, we had a very interesting class on composition and lighting in photography and video. To do this, they sent us to do several practices and it occurred to me to practice with candles.
Hace algunos años, cuando estudiaba ciencias audiovisuales, tuvimos una clase bastante interesante sobre la composición y la iluminación en la fotografía y en el video. Para ello, nos mandaron a hacer varias prácticas y a mí se me ocurrió practicar con velas.
In particular, I have always liked photographs that reflect light in water. Go testing how light is reflected with different levels of water using glass and mirrors. I also experimented with the color temperature, in this case, I wanted it more towards the cold to be able to control that it didn't look too warm due to the candlelight and to be able to better appreciate the real color of the wax.
En lo particular, siempre me han gustado las fotografías que reflejos de luz en el agua. Ir probando como se refleja la luz con distintos niveles de agua usando vidrio y espejos. También experimentar con la temperatura de color, en este caso, la quise más hacia los fríos para poder controlar que no se viera demasiado cálido por ser con la luz de las velas y poder apreciar mejor el color real de la cera.
Light and shadow are very important elements in photography. I remember once, our teacher told us a quote that stuck in my mind and it was "photography is painting with light" and thinking about it, this is quite accurate since without light, we could not see anything. The shadow is an equally important element, since we can show a three-dimensional world, in this case photography, which is two-dimensional. Thanks to the shadows we can give depth, highlight expressions more, give more drama, etc.
La luz y sombra son elementos muy importantes en la fotografía. Recuerdo una vez, nuestro profesor nos dijo una cita que me quedó grababa en la mente y fue “la fotografía es pintar con la luz” y pensándolo bien, esto es bastante acertado ya que sin la luz, no podríamos ver nada. La sombra, es un elemento igual de importante, ya que podemos mostrar un mundo tridimensional, en este caso la fotografía que es bidimensional. Gracias a las sombras podemos dar profundidad, resaltar más las expresiones, dar más dramatismo, etc.
Light and shadow are equally important, both are part of our language. I find it important to learn to let go of use and imagination when using light. Learn to find and manage to give drama, darkness in an expression, in a location. Get out of the comfort of having everything always lit, look for backlit angles. All these exercises help us to be better photographers.
La luz y la sombra son igual de importantes, ambas son parte de nuestro lenguaje. Me parece importante aprender a soltarse con respecto al uso y la imaginación al utilizar la luz. Aprender a encontrar y lograr dar el dramatismo, oscuridad en una expresión, en una locación. Salirse de la comodidad de tener todo siempre iluminado, buscar ángulos en contraluz. Todos estos ejercicios nos sirven para ser cada vez mejores fotógrafos.
