Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share an action-packed battle in the Silver Leagues where the ultimate monsters joined the fight. It had all the elements of greatness to make it into the Battle of Day logbook, if there is one, and it holds pointers for the new players who joined recently.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 43 and there are 2 summoners to choose from: Fire and Dragon.
Battle Rules:-
- Noxious Fumes: All units start the battle poisoned and lose 2 HP at the beginning of each round, starting from round 2.
Keeping the mana cap, available summoners, and Battel rules I decided to go with the summoner with whim I could play longer and harder and would give me a tactical advantage over my opposition. That is Tarsa, the fire summoner.
Battle Details
Let's start the deck deconstruction from my side:
Summoner: Tarsa(Ability: Increase in HP and Melee Damage by 1 for all ally units)(Level 2)
Melee Attackers: The Forgotten One(Ability: Immunity), Tenyii Striker(Ability: Sneak).
Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Lava Launcher(Ability: Close Range), Firecaller(Ability: Martyr), Molten Ash Golem(Abiliy: Close Range).
My strategy was to have my units with high HP gain the stats boost twice, that way they would last an additional round with more firepower and speed. I chose a tank that would nullify the battle rules and gain the martyr effect after the first round since Marksrat would gain an HP from the summoner. Then, I placed my sneak attacker near the rear end while I chose a ranged attacker at the back of my deck, that way I could have my units from the back survives a few rounds because of the massive HP.
My overall damage per round is 16 with no healing. After two martyr effects i.e. after two of my units fall, it comes back to 16 damage per round.
Now for the opposition"s turn.
Summoner: Tarsa(Ability: Increase in HP and Melee Damage by 1 for all ally units)(Level 2)
Tank: Molten Ash Golem(Abiliy: Close Range)(Golf Foil).
Melee Attackers: Radiated Brute(Ability: Reach). Tenyii Striker(Ability: Sneak).
Non-Attackers: Scavo Hireling(Ability: Cleanse).
Magic Attacker: Djinn Apprentice(No Ability).
Blocked Melee Attacker: Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralize).
His strategy was to reduce the incoming melee damages while wiping off the debuffs from the battle rules from the units that would grace the tank position. He wanted to attack from the front and the back, which is why he used a close ranged attacker at the front and followed it up with a melee attacker and used Tenyii to do damage from the back. With his tank having his HP, cleansing it would make sure it would last for more than 2 rounds if it could take up the incoming reduced melee damage. Lastly, he used a magic attacker and kept it near the rear end to ensure that his damage for 2 rounds would be confirmed.
His overall damage per round is 9.
Major Events
At the end of the round, his tank was taken out by my Firecaller making it a 3 v 6 as 2 of his units were not participating in dealing damage.
In the final third of the round, his first melee attacker fell thanks to my tank while the rest of my units sustained the damage of poison.
2 of my units were taken out in this round. 2 of my units gained the martyr effect and had a stats boost. His cleanser could not cleanse itself before so it also got taken out making it a 4 v 2.
In the second third of the round, his Striker was stricken out thanks to my Lava Launcher.
At the start of the final third, his Djinn was brutally taken out thanks to my tank as it was not affected by Disintegrator's debuff on melee damage.
Near the end of the final third, his Disintegrator was taken out by my Firecaller before it had a chance to do any damage.
Results
The core point of this battle was survival, and with the huge mana cap, realising it was not that tough. Yet, he decided to have 2 monsters that did not do damage and only granted or negated status effects. Moreover, the units he chose did not do that much damage. So, in both ways, he underperformed. Maybe, he did not have the right monsters for the battle which is essential for battles in the Silver Leagues. Having normal cards are enough if one has the right units at had, gold foil does not matter.
