Hello everyone this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a modern ranked battle, in one of which, as the title mentions, both the opponent and I use Stitch Leeches, which one will win, the regular or the gold foil?
First, let's talk a little bit about Stitch Leech, the common chaos unit that costs 3 mana and will be the protagonist of the battle. It may not have many health points but its health will change throughout the battle.

Source
Stitch Leech only has 2 abilities, but they are very good, allowing it to attack from any position and survive on the battlefield.
Stitch Leech starts at level 1 with the SNEAK ability, which allows it to attack the enemy unit that is in the last position as long as Stitch is in the backline.
At level 6, it gains the LIFE LEECH ability, which allows it to increase its health and max health each time it damages an enemy unit by 50% of the damage dealt (rounded up).
Some modifiers that are good against Stitch Leech are:
Briar Patch, where all units gain the Thorns ability, which causes all melee units like Leech to take 2 physical damaged when they successfully attack an enemy unit.
Since Stitch Leech has no armor low health, the Equal Opportunity modifier makes it a vulnerable target, as it causes all units to attack the enemy unit with the lowest health.
HOW TO OBTAIN
Available on the Marketplace. At the time of writing this post, a max level Stitch Leech costs $4.70 (each BCX $0.01) and there are a lot of Leeches at lvl 1 that cost $0.02.
And a there is one max gold foil Stitch Leech that costs $7.59 (each BCX $0.20), and the level 3 gold one costs $0.20.
BATTLE
In this battle there are three modifiers, the Blood and Sunder modifier, which grants all units the Corrosive Ward ability, which in turn causes all melee units to lose -2 armor and max armor when they succesfully attack. Also, all units cannot miss attacks due to the Aim True modifier. Finally, only common and rare units will be allowed to be summoned due to the Rise of the Commons modifier.
Also, there is only a 17 mana cap, so I will focus on using low mana units this time.

I decided to choose Eternal Tofu as my summoner, so all my units will gain +2 health, the Snare (attacks will remove the flying ability of enemy units) and most importanly the Thorns ability, as I mentioned before, it will damage the enemy melee attackers. In addition, thanks to the left-tactic I give the Divine Shield (ignores the first non-poison damage) to all my units that didn't have it, so now my units have protection from enemy sneak attacks.
In the first position is Gargoya Scrapper, a light unit that takes 50% less damage from magic attacks (rounded up) due to its Void ability.
In the second position is Pelacor Conjurer, who has Divine Shield on his own. He also has the Flying ability, allowing him to have a 25% extra chance to evade melee and ranged attacks from non-flying units. And thanks to the Counterspell ability, he damages magic enemy units that attack him by 50% damage they attempt to do. In addition, he can also evade magic attacks as if they were melee attacks.
My Stitch Leech is in the third position, ready to destroy some units and increase its health with each attack.
In the fourth and final position is Venari Crystalsmith, who will heal my frontline unit for a third of their max health each round. In addition, it can remove all positive buffs from the enemy unit it attacks.
In the first round, my Gargoya and Venari lost their Divine Shields due to enemy attacks. Then, my Stitch Leech defeats the enemy Chaos Agent.
In the second round, the enemy Vruz is defeated when he attacks my Venari due to the Thorns effect. Because of this, Whelp Herder and Naga Assasin gained +1 to all stats due to Vruz's Martyr ability. Then, Whelp Herder defeats my Gargoya Scrapper. And finally, the enemy Stitch Leech destroys me Venari Crystalsmith.
In the third round, my Stitch Leech defeats another unit, this time the enemy Naga Assassin is the victim.
In the fourth round, the enemy Whelp Herder attacks my Pelacor and is defeated due to the effect of the thorns. After that, my Stitch Leech defeats the enemy golden Stitch Leech.
In the fifth round, the enemy Pelacor Conjurer survives, but in the sixth round is defeated by my only unit that could attack, Stitch Leech.

In this battle I only played with 4 units due to the low mana limit, but I played the ones I considered good. My opponent instead played the 4 mana summoner Quix the Devious, and therefore had a bit more mana to summon more units, he played 6 golden units, three of them were melee units, and because of this the thorns ability my units had thanks to Eternal Tofu, damaged them till they were defeated.
My Stitch Leech manages to destroy 4 units and the other two enemy units were defeated by the thorns effect. The enemy golden Stitch Leech was unable to increase its health too much and was defeated by my own Stitch.
In the end my Pelacor Conjurer was able to survive with 2 health and together with my Stitch Leech they won the battle.
That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
