Splinterlands Challenge — Venka cursed with Taunt

Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be using Risquel Drath, the legendary squirrel.

Let's talk a little bit about this summoner. Like many of the new legendary summoners, it has two elements, fire and earth. Passively grants ranged allies +1 ranged attack, and all of their allies gain the Flying ability, very useful in the Earthquake ruleset and also to give your units a better chance of evading potential ranged and melee attacks.

You can choose his left-tactic to grant the Impede and True Strike ability to two units. Units with Impede reduce the speed of the enemy unit after a successfull attack by 1, this effect can stack. And units with True Strike have 100% accuracy on their attacks.

On the other hand, his right-tactic grants the Taunt and Redemption ability to one unit. This is great as it is not limited to your units, you can decide to use it on the enemy unit, which will draw the attention of your units, thus it will be defeated first. Keep in mind, that after the unit is defeated, due to Redemption, your units will receive 1 point of physical damage.

In this battle where I used Risqruel, only Neutral units will be allowed due to the Shades of Gray ruleset. Also, all units will have +2 armor thanks to the Armored Up ruleset.

The opponent uses Cryptic and grants the Poison and Expose ability to his Arkemis and Supply Runner, it's very bad for me since they have the chance to remove my Arkemis' Forcefield, and his Venka could a problem I don't defeat her quikcly. That's why I decide to give the Taunt to the enemy Venka, so that my backline units can focus their attacks on her first.

In my lineup we have Arkemis the Bear in the first position, then Grimbardun Smith to further protect my other units. In the third position is Doctor Blight, who is one of my favorite 4 mana units mainly due to his poison and affliction abilities. After that is Magi of Chaos, because I though the enemy would play a Grimbardun, and Magi does double damage to him and any other unit that doesn't have attacks. In the fifth position, my own Venka the Vile. And to increase the speed and health of my units, Supply Runner in the last position.

In the first round, after my Supply Runner attacked and destroyed the enemy Venka's armor, my own Venka finished the job, destroying her evil twin and performed another attack on the enemy Runner. My units lose -1 physical damage due to Venka's Redemption, but it was worth it.

In the second round, my Arkemis is poisoned by the enemy Runner and enemy Coeurl Lurker is also poisoned due to my Doctor Blight. No units were defeated in this round.

In the third round, Venka destroys the enemy Lurker. And my Arkemis is defeated by Spirit Hoarder.

In the fourth round, Magi of Chaos destroys enemy Arkemis the Bear. And my Grimbardun loses his Immunity ability and is poisoned.

In the fifth and final round, Venka destroys Venator Kinjo and also Spirit Hoarder thanks to her Trample ability. And Magi of Chaos and Doctor Blight end the battle by defeating the enemy Supply Runner.

I don't use Risqruel Drath as often as I use other summoners like Tofu, but the few times I have played him like in this battle, he always proves how useful he is. Personally, I like his right-tactic the most, as you can do a lot of strategies with it, you can decide to give the taunt to the enemy unit you want to defeat first, or give taunt to one of your units that is more resistent and has more protection, or even give it to a martyr unit, so that when it is defeated, your allies wil take advantage of it. How cool this squirrel is.
