Back on the Land: Wild Northeast Revival

After about 9 months away from land to focus on SPS & the broader economy, I’ve started spinning things back up — and honestly, it feels good to be back. Big shoutout to @azircon for the push. Watching his recent land moves - along with a bit of a personal shove ;) - reminded me why I was excited about this part of the game in the first place.

Right now, I’m based in the Wild Northeast, spread across three regions:

  • PR-WNE-94 (Shu Vho)
  • PR-WNE-98 (Sonn)
  • PR-WNE-102 (Kithden)

Plot Breakdown

Kithden (102)

My strongest zone so far. Four active plots, covering River, Caldera, and Canyon terrain. Currently producing grain, iron, stone & research. Rarity mix is mostly Rare with one Epic. Total PP sits at 192.57k — solid output, especially as far as grain & research are concerned.

Shu Vho (94)

Two plots active here — Plains and Swamp. One Epic Grain Farm and a Common Logging Camp. Slower but steady.

Sonn (98)

Just one plot right now — an Epic Research Hut (River, Magical: Earth). Modest PP but helping on the research point front.

Production Snapshot

Based on current numbers, and according to @beaker007's site , I'm sitting at 98% self-sufficiency. Net positive on grain & research, but still pulling some stone, wood, and iron from the market to cover shortfalls.

WNE Leaderboard Check-In

Currently ranked #55 in Research Points across the Wild Northeast (134,491 Research Points). Not amazing, but decent considering everything was offline for most of the year. There's still a lot of headroom left as I continue to optimize.

Why Now

We’re in the middle of Land 1.75 — and with Midnight Potion production around the corner, I wanted to be ready. That new crafting layer could shift the whole resource game, especially for those already focused on research.

Also worth noting: the latest Conflict Wagon update makes land a lot more relevant to core gameplay. The resource loop matters more now. If you're ignoring land, you’re missing part of the picture.

What’s Next

  • Fine-tuning card deployments on plots to maximize output
  • Possibly taking Azircon up on his offer to manage a few of his plots
  • Ongoing allocation of resources into totems & titles to boost production
  • Closely watching how Midnight Potion rollout impacts land economics

Feels like the game is entering a new phase & land is finally pulling its weight. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Until next time

Yes! More Land articles! I wonder how CA affects prices of land plots and resources... 😆

Yea! It's good seeing so much interest getting focused on land; especially in the midst of a new set being launched!

And given the new stuff comin to land in the short-term, I'm tempted to start fillin out some additional plots!

We'll see how CA rolls before making such land decisions though :)

Gotta set priorities! Haha. Good luck to us all. The future is exciting!

Onwards & upwards, amigo!

Nice to see you dipping your toes into the waters of Splinterlands!

Just a heads-up — the self-sufficiency score is about to change. It was a bit too optimistic, in my opinion.

Here’s a sneak peek at the updated values (still tweaking things around):

Haha! Well, beaker, bearer of bad news, I unfortunately already had a pretty good idea I was further off than 1.5% from the original projections ;)

Appreciate you keepin this thing movin & iterating!

The announcement of potions crafting has seen a big spike in land attention but azircon getting on with all the influencers it’s really pushing it into everyone’s faces!

Was hoping to get more land before everyone returned. I’ll keep slowly building, 8 self sufficient plots and growing
!BBH

Definitely! Az makin the rounds has certainly seemed to stir things up on the land side of things - it's been fun watchin Az pop up on all these other YT videos over the last week!

I know he's feelin legitimately bullish on land for, perhaps, the first time ever - and with good reason. The potions, wagons, etc.... seem like they're all within grasp in the very short-term.

Lots goin on at the moment though - I suspect land will start to mostly slide a little bit here in about a week as the pre-sale truly gets fired up. THAT might be the time for you to strike

Cheers doombot!

What are you doing with the resources? Are you stockpiling them for now?

I am actually just staying afloat. My main goal is research & research is bloody pricey from a resource perspective. I may opt to pivot towards whatever the Midnight Potion production requires, but we'll see once that post is live

Got it. It will be interesting to see how the midnight potions are valued. My plots are only grain and wood so I have just been stockpiling grain and selling off most of the wood for DEC.

Nice! You should drop a post about what ya earnin over there - you in WNE, too, ain't ya?

Ah man, and yea, I got bullied by RNG into pursuing research when I turned my plots over :D

I trust that research will be worth it in the long run but for now it's really bloody resource intensive!

That is a good idea, maybe I will. I have so little land that it's not doing much.

Well, I'm a small landholder too with my 7 plots. I reckon if we as the smaller participants have somethin to be excited about via land, then we're doin things the right way!
