For this week's social media challenge, we have a focus on free soulbound cards that win a lot of matches for me. That means a free card wins me free SPS which is a pretty great deal in my opinion. What a great time to be starting the game if you are interested to earn cards like this you can receive just by playing and use to earn crypto. We will explain soulbound cards which are the free cards you can earn just by playing Splinterlands and then breakdown two battles in which these cards get us the win. Here are the links for the two full battles we will breakdown:

Soulbound Cards

As of February of this year, cards earned in chest for playing Splinterlands are considered soulbound which means they are locked to an account for the time being but can be used to play. These cards range from common to legendary rarity meaning many of them are high quality and provide meta plays in many rulesets. There is high RNG in getting these in the chests from battle rewards meaning that you can have cards others do not giving you a leg up on your opponent. The plan is for these cards to eventually be unlocked burning DEC in order to sell for those interested but in the meantime earn you SPS every battle if you win. Included in these cards are also summoners which are needed to form every team. They can be quite powerful when paired with gladius cards which can be earned in guilds in a separate part of the game.

This battle shows off the imperial knight. A common life card that has been a real meta play in mid mana matches for me specifically with the summoner Lily Shieldpaw. My opponent went with good old llama kron any heavy magic damage which would have melted many other tanks. The knight stands up real strong however and with the heal from the divine healer and repair/resurrect from adelaide my knight is unable to be defeated.

Battle 2

For this match, we have a tournament battle showing off two soulbound cards. The summoner helios matriarch is uniquely powerful given it can activate any gladius card in the game being it is a dragon card. For this match, I was able to play Larissa which is a double strike magic monster that can get out of hand quick when it gets rolling. The other soulbound card that is focused here is a new favorite Usut. As the battle plays out, you can see not bringing a taunt monster was a mistake of my opponent. In round one, usut gets a kill to boost his damage to three. Each of the following rounds usut or larissa get a kill boosting them more and more.

As you can see, soulbound cards can be the difference in several matches. There is no doubt these cards will need to be owned moving forward in both wild and modern to have success in ranked and tournament play. Players right now are at a unique time to earn them for free before they rotate out. Please upvote or comment if you enjoyed this breakdown and have any other strategies using soulbound cards.

The soulbound cards are actually pretty powerful, especially when developped. The more cards I get, the more I can upgrade them and the more I can play them in the game. Great post!
