In this article, we will be breaking down what I believe to be the most underrated silver league summoner in the game. No doubt prices are down across the board which is the time for everyone to gather what they need before the eventual bull run hits in the future. In light of this, it has been important for me to gather data on what are some of my best monsters and summoners for my current league and the league above. Sthispa has been a summoner I always felt would be powerful given the ability to dodge magic with the phase ability but did not have the monsters to pair with her. As you will see below, I believe there are some key combos for sthispa to allow you to elevate your win rate especially in the modern format. We will look at three key monsters to pair with sthispa and then do some very brief breakdowns of a few matches using the strategies.
Key Monsters
1. Void Dragon: The whole strategy behind phase is high speed and five speed is quite good for a base level monster as well as adding in the flying to boot. This monsters gains phase in level three however for silver league it does not have it showing the strength of adding sthispa to this monster. Bring in a few slows or speed boosts and you have a very resilient tank for five mana against all attacks.
2. Regal Peryton: The bane of my existence for some time when chaos legion first came out as melee monsters could not hit it if there lives depended on it. Now I use the peryton for my own pleasure as it can be a ridiculously good tank with sthispa against all attacks. A cheeky play I have created is having the peryton along with the acid shooter in the backline for a low mana (15 mana or less) play. There is some risk without the speed buffs or debuffs but has worked pretty well thus far.
3. Supply Runnner/Countess Sinash: Fire has some pretty fast monsters and adding this combo to the team can prove to be quite powerful in silver. One interesting tank that folks would not think of is the venari heatsmith. With the speed boosts, you can get to six speed which is usually plenty against the slow one speed magic spam from obsidian teams. Naturally, this combo is unbelievably powerful with the void dragon as well as other monsters like the exploding rats.
Battle Breakdowns
Match 1
Pretty straight forward strategy here that I really like to use in even stevens matches. High speed and phase make a pretty good chance to avoid most attackers. As you will see if you watch the full battle, that is exactly what happened especially with my serpent of the flame and the 60% miss chance. His prismologist hit more often than I would have liked but in the end the speed and phase prevails.
Match 2
One of my favorite rulesets to use sthispa in is the enrage ruleset. Magic is always a decent play here as you know it will hit however sthispa gains an edge for all your monsters. Similar combo as the previous match with double speed boost, one slow and the silence was key as well from tinderlock. Another match with more than 50% miss chance on my part which I will take for odds. However the enrage, gets my void dragon to 11 speed making it basically unhittable. Even when it is there is only one damage making it super resilient.
As you can tell, there has been a lot of fun testing out these strategies with sthispa with some pretty consistent success. This I believe can replicated at the gold league as well as speed is still king. The key to sthispa being even more powerful in gold league is that you can play level 7 rares with an epic summoner where you can only play level 6 with other rarity of summoners. That could mean an extra damage, speed, or ability which are all imperative to winning a match.
