I've just completed the 1st Rental Stint of my latest experiment Renting for Modern Ranked and so that puts me at the Half Way mark of the experiment. So far the results have been a little bit disappointing but I can put some of that disappointment down to the fact that I'm adjusting to a new playing deck and many of my "Old Favourites" just aren't there for me to lean on when the Battle Clock is running out and I'm fumbling around to find a suitable lineup.

Firstly I was hoping (and expecting) that I would be able to get comfortably into the Gold Tiers on my 1st rental stint but I wasn't able to. I fell 1 game short a few times and hit a bit of a quagmire at the top of Silver Tier 1 with my 100% Chaos Legion rentals. That was a little bit surprising for me, but the competition around those ranks is fairly strong. I had a lot of wins early when I was powering up through the lower Bronze and Silver ranks but my Win Rate evened out to more like 50/50 for the last 20 or 30 games.
So far I've played about 98 battles and from those games I have earned 113.731 SPS and 5422 Glint - which I can double since I will get that much Glint again for the End of Season Rewards. With the new Glint Shop that's about 2 x Epic cards. My Glint Boost has dropped to x16.71 and I'm earning 130 Glint per win at my current level (x2 for EoS rewards) plus about 3 to 3.5 SPS per win.
Next up I am having a couple of days off so that my Energy can recharge and I'll kick off my 2nd rental stint in just over 48 hours to see if I can improve on that 1st rental stint before I wrap up the experiment. I am cautiously confident that my SPS and Glint rewards will be higher the 2nd time around, but after seeing how tough the competition is I am not confident of getting past the Gold Tiers. That might not be a big deal if the rewards are decent. We will see!
I've been saying for a while that if they are going to keep adding cards they need to increase the battle timer. It's just too many to sort through anymore.
That's a good point, but not the issue here really. Just playing with Chaos Legion means I have fewer cards to select from. The issue is that I am not familiar with putting lineups together with just the ones available.
Ah, okay. I don't have high leve cards, but I have enough that it keeps me busy. I think one of my accounts is only CL cards and it lives in Diamond pretty easily.
For wild, certainly. Modern is the last two sets only, so that keeps the cards limited there. It will be interesting to see what happens down the line as they continue to release new sets. I know a few older players who can't afford to keep ploughing money into new sets all the time, especially when they're still trying to level up previous ones. This makes me wonder if modern will become even more deserted than it is now.
I went pretty heavy into past sales, but I was only able to buy about 25 packs of Rebellion cards. I'm starting to regret it a bit now, but I didn't have the funds at the time.

By the way, I play between "Diamond and Champion" in the wild format and with a multiplier between 10x and 12x, that makes me win approximately between 2.5 and 4 SPS, winning that in silver in modern sounds interesting, but I understand that it is not the same, as you say the cards change, the strategies too and winning is not so simple.
