BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! RULESET: Explosive Weaponry

in Splinterlandslast month

My splinterlands battle post for the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge.

Explosive Weaponry is the ruleset for this week's Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge. With this ruleset, all monsters will get Blast ability in the battle. A monster with blast ability does additional damage to the adjacent monster to the enemy monster. So it's better to use a monster with a 'Reflection Shield' that absorbs blast damage and protects adjacent monsters.

Battle Challenge Rulset

Explosive Weaponry

Ruleset: Earthquake, Broken Arrows, Explosive Weaponry

  • Earthquake: All non-flying monsters will take 2 melee damage at the end of each round in the battle.
  • Broken Arrows: Ranged attack monsters cannot be used.
  • Explosive Weaponry: All monsters will get the blast ability.

Mana cap: 17
Splinters: Water, Life, Dragon

My Strategy For The Battle

The total mana for this battle is only 17, so I need to use mana carefully. Also, there are three rulesets for this battle. I will use one monster with the 'Reflection shield' ability to protect my battle lineup against blast damage. Also, will try to use a flying monster because of the Earthquake ruleset. So, I like to use a water splinter for this battle.

Kelya Frendul (Water Summoner)
Here, I am going to use level level 4 Kelya Frendul water summoner (gold card). This summoner is good in certain situations where you need extra speed and armor. I hope that this summoner will be highly effective in this battle.

1. Djinn Oshannus
I put Djinn Oshannus monster in the first position. This one is a level 2 legendary monster. This magic monster costs 8 mana and I find it the best choice for the first position in our battle lineup. This one is best against the magic monster as it has Void and Phase abilities. It has 2 magic attacks, 5 speeds, and 11 health which are great stats for any monster could have.

2. Tide Biter
I put the Tide Biter monster in the second position. This one is a melee monster and costs only 3 mana. It has Reach ability so it can attack from the second position and the best part is its Reflection Shiel ability which will help it against blast damage.

3. Ice Pixie
Then I put Ice Pixie in the third position of my battle lineup. This is a highly useful magic monster as it costs only 2 mana. Here, I used a level 3 Ice Pixie monster. It has 1 magic attack, 3 speeds, 1 armor, and 2 health. The best part is it has Flying ability. So, this monster will not get any damage at the end of each round because of the Earthquake ruleset.

4. Torrent Fiend
Now, I don't have any mana left. So, I thought to use 0 Mana Monster to fill the remaining spot in my battle lineup. This zero-mana monster has one melee attack too, but I don't think it will be of any use in this battle.

5. Furious Chicken
Again I used another zero mana monster, Furious Chicken which is a neutral monster. It will give my battle lineup a little defense from the back side.

My opponents used the Alric Stormbringer summoner while I used the Kelya Frendul summoner. He has used all the gold monsters. I could not use my gold monster in this battle lineup as they didn't fit in my strategy. Here, I used Tide Biter monster with Relflection shield ability which will be very effective against blast damage.

In the first round, My monster got one extra speed and armor while my opponents got one extra magic attack because of respective summoners from both sides. My monsters did good damage to the opponent's monster, my fist monster also got a similar amount of damage. But my second monster is still safe because of its Reflection Shield ability, while my monsters successfully did damage to the opponent's second monster as well.

In the second round, the opponent's second monster died because of Earthquake damage while my monsters were still safe because of their armor. Soon opponent's Ice Pixie monster also died. Now my victory seems closer and I will easily win this battle.

In the third round, my last two monsters also died because of earthquake damage. However these are zero mana monsters, so it doesn't affect me at all. At the end of the third round opponent Djinn Oshanus monster died.

Finally, I won the battle. ✌️
