Flawless Battle Wins. Splinterlands Social Media Contest.

in Splinterlands2 months ago (edited)

I haven't had much time to share posts on Hive lately. But, I've been playing Splinterlands a lot. A lot has changed since I last posted and there are now many more things to talk about in a battle including the new abilities, rulesets, and characters.

This post of mine is to participate in the weekly contest called "The Social Media Contest" arranged by @splinterlands. You can check out the contest by clicking here. I'll talk about several battles in this post that were pretty interesting and had some twisting outcomes at the end.

My First Battle

  • This match was easy for me. According to the ruleset, no melee-attacking monster could be used in the battle. And that left me with two choices, either to use ranged attacking monsters or magic attacking monsters. Unlike before, now I have a good collection of them both. But the problem with ranged attacking monsters is they can't fight back if used in the first place and there's always the chance of their attacks being dodged or missed. And that is why I decided to go with magic in this battle.

  • As for my lineup and battle strategy, I used a monster with a large life capacity and taunt ability. This will help it stay longer on the position and the special ability attracts all the enemy attacks towards itself. This also helps in protecting the other low-life monsters back in the line. And then I used another one with flying ability and a faster attacking speed. It was to make sure, that if the first monster got knocked down somehow, the monster in the second position would be able to take the lead and the flying ability would help it to hold the position longer. And then I used a monster with the tank heal ability to heal the monster in the first position. And then I used the other monsters.

The battle happened just as I planned and it was an easy win for me. I thought at least my first monster would die. But, that didn't even happen because of the healing power of my third monster.

  • This match was under a standard ruleset meaning there was no modification to the game and I was allowed to use up to 38 mana caps. After analyzing my opponent's previous battles, I figured that using sneak and opportunity abilities could be effective against him. As my focus was on using fire, I chose Tarsa as my summoner.

  • As you can see I used the Glum Flameblade in the first position. This monster is strong as hell with a large amount of life and a huge shield too. But the most amazing ability of this monster is the bloodlust ability. This ability helps it to gain +1 power on every single ability and it has another amazing ability with the help of that, enemy magic attacks can't directly hit its life and hit the armor first.

  • The ambush ability was a huge help to attack first and as the same monster had sneak ability, My deck was able to eliminate two strong monsters at the end of the line. As predicted, the opportunity ability was a huge help too. Not to mention, that monster could lend a powerful blow of -6 to the opponent's cards. Surprisingly, there wasn't much miss this time and I guess it wouldn't be that easy if there were any miss attacks.
  • And again, it was another flawless victory.

  • This battle was under the Little League ruleset and I was allowed to use up to 23 mana caps in the battle. The ruleset means players can only use cards that cost equal to or less than 4 mana caps. So, I had to be very careful and selective to choose the summoner and the monsters. And then plan out the lineup too.

  • I used my first two monsters as shields so that the magic-attacking monsters could stay alive and continue attacking. I also planned it in a way so that the magic-attacking monsters could stay alive longer against sneak and snipe attacks.

  • This battle was almost a flowless win too. Only if that one monster in the didn't die. I'd have another flawless win. I guess I can still call it a perfect win.
