Ilthain vs. General Sloan

Let me show you how I win this match against Ilthain. Let's discuss first their abilities.

Summoner Abilities

Summoner
Description
image.pngGeneral Sloan: This is a Life summoner that can give an additional 1 ranged attack to all of your ranged monsters. It consumed 4 mana caps.
image.pngIlthain: Another Life summoner which is a counter for General Sloan. This summoner has the ability to Return Fire. Return Fire is an ability that can return reduced damage of ranged attack to the attackers. It also can give your monsters +1 speed..

In terms of abilities, Ilthain is better than General Sloan. To win against Ilthain, you will be needed some cards that have armor or healing abilities.

Battle Field Ruleset

image.png

Ruleset
Description
image.pngKeep Your Distance: Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
image.pngLittle League: Only Monsters and Summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles.
image.pngBorn Again: All monsters have the Rebirth ability.

Mana Cap: 48
Active Splinter: Fire and Life

Battle Prediction

There is a lot of mana cap but with the Little League ruleset, that mana is useless. Fire and Life is the only active splinter so I guess my opponent will use Life Summoner, Ilthain, Lorna Shine, or General Sloan.

My Team

Team
Description
image.pngGeneral Sloan: I choose this summoner so that my ranged monsters will have additional +1 ranged attacks.
image.pngPelacor Conjurer: With the Keep Your Distance and Little League ruleset this monster is the best tank. This monster has 5 speed with the Flying and Phase ability so it will be hard to hit this monster. It also has the Magic Reflect ability that can reflect magic damage to enemy magic attacks.
image.pngVenari Spellsmith: I add this monster in the second position so that if my tank has died this monster will be the next target. Which is this monster has the Redemption ability, when this monster dies it does 1 damage to all enemy monsters. Also one of the reasons I choose this monster is because of its Amplify ability. My tank has the Reflection ability, adding Amplify does increase the reflection damage.
image.pngTime Mage: I'm using level 6 Time Mage, this level is enough because all I want is her Slow ability. That can make my opponent's speed reduced by 1.
image.pngVenari Crystalsmith: I add this monster to support my tank, this monsters has the Tank Heal ability and it has 3 ranged attack plus +1 so the total of 4 ranged attacks.
image.pngXenith Archer: I added another ranged monster for the damage, this monster has 2 ranged attacks, 4 speed, and 5 health.
image.pngDoctor Blight: I always use this monster when the ruleset is Little League. This monster has Affliction, Camouflage, Poison, Scavenger, and Weaken ability. For only 4 mana cap that has a lot of abilities.

Start of Battle

Round 1

image.png

  • My opponent used Ilthain with Pelacor Conjurer in the first position.
  • The opponent will take the first attack as it has more speed because of its summoner.
  • Opponent Time Mage hit Pelacor Conjurer, and with the magic reflection + amplify Time Mage kill herself. Thanks also to Doctor Blight that redeuced my opponent's health by 1.
  • With the new ruleset Born Again, the opponent Time Mage activates its resurrection.
  • Opponent Pelacor Conjurer is killed by Venari Crystalsmith. Pelacor Conjurer activates rebirth.
  • Before Round 1 ended, opponent Pelacor Conjurer died.
  • When the Spirit Hoarder attacked it hit my tank that cost him a magic reflection. So it also kills itself just like the Time Mage.
  • Spirit Hoarder Rebirth has been used.

Round 2

image.png

  • Time Mage attack first and hit my tank. Time Mage kill herself again by the magic reflect.
  • Opponent Venari Spellsmith is killed by Time Mage.
  • Venari Spellsmith resurrect but is still killed by the Xenith Archer.
  • Venari Marksrat was killed by Venari Crystalsmith.
  • Venari Marksrat resurrects but is also killed by the Venari Spellsmith.
  • Spirit Hoarder attacked and killed itself again with the magic reflection.
  • Opponent Venari Crystalsmith is the only monster remaining and it can't attack in the first position so I win this battle.

With the new ruleset which is Born Again, it can be a game changer. Even though my opponent used a summoner that can counter General Sloan I still win this match because I didn't choose all monsters that have ranged attacks. Maybe my opponent will win if his/her Venari Spellsmith has at least the level that unlocks the Amplify ability. GG Handmade-mayo!

Interesting choice of summoner, I think if I could I would use Lorna Shine, but if not available Ilthain
