Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: Grey is my middle name

The Ruleset

• Rulesets - Shades of Gray
• Mana Cap - 39
• Active Elements -

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Kelya Frendul

• With the ruleset and element pick that I got I needed a summoner that had great buffs that could boost the whole team
• So in my case I went with water element and Kelya Frendul as my summoner because he was only 4 mana and had two good all team buff being +1 speed and +1 armor

1st Position: Disintegrator

• Disintegrator was my main tanks for this battle
• Main reason I like Disintegrator here a lot is his Demoralize ability
• For 7 mana Disintegrator does not have the best stats but his abilities make him still a great pick for this team
• Demoralize - -1 melee power to all enemy units
• Trample - After using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position

2nd Position: Uraeus

• Possible my favorite Sneak monster by far
• For only 3 mana you get so many stats
• Also as he is neutral monster that meant he was playable in this battle and also in any other battles
• Sneak - Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit

3rd Position: Parasitic Growth

• Another decent melee monster that could attack from the backline
• Even tho he costs 1 mana more and has worse stats I still played him as I just did not have so many monsters to pick from
• Opportunity - Targets the enemy unit with the least health

4th Position: Magi of Chaos

• Next up in line is my only magic monster for this battle and also the only level 1 monster
• Even tho because of his level his stats are not the greatest but I still played him as I ran out of monster to pick from
• Also magic damage is always good to have as if my enemy decides to play a low hp high armor monster he can be taken care of

5th Position: Sand Worm

• How can you not play Sand Worm in a all neutral battle
• Yes he costs 9 mana but he is also a heavy hitter with his 6 melee
• Also with his 6 hp he was quite decent backline tank
• Sneak - Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit

6th Position: Supply Runner

• Last but not least is my single ranged monster
• Because of his speed he was a great backline tank
• His damage was just a + in this battle as I mostly picked his because of his Swiftness ability
• Swiftness - +1 speed to all allied units

Starting board

• Already after seeing the starting board I was confident I would win because my enemy played two 1 hp high armor monster as his main tanks but I had a single magic monster who was going to deal with them really easily
• But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

• After first round his first tank was already taken down and also was his Chicken
• In the start of the next round his Drybone Raider and his second low hp tank was going to fall also which would leave me in a really good spot
• But anything could still happen so lets keep watching

2nd Round

• After 2nd Round the battle was basically over and I just needed to wait for the start of the next and hopefully final round
• Lets hope for the best and end this battle up

3rd Round

• I had just enough damage to take down my enemies last two standing monsters in a single round
• After his Venari Marksrat and Gobson Bomber had fallen I took the victory

Summary

• This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
• The strategy to take away from this battle is that if you have the option always play at least a single magic monster and it counters almost every low hp high armor monster and also even when your enemy does not play any low hp high armor monster magic damage is always nice to have in your team
