Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!
Another week has passed and it's been a bit quieter around Splinterlands this week. There was a small patch, but it was mainly to fix bugs. Perhaps the only thing worth mentioning is that from now on the highest rank at the end of the previous season determines the league in which you will be placed in the next season. Previously, this was determined by the rank at the start of the new season. A good change in my opinion.
Answers to the last Question:
Last week's question was "What do you think of the Kelan Gaines promo card?". This time, seven people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.
The possibilities are awesome! This card can be a game changer - but 115 BCX at around 1,90$/BCX is a little steep for a rare. It would've been better as an Epic, with a higher price maybe, but something that doesn't add up to 200$ for a max-copy.
Anyhow, I think that this card at Silver-Level can already provide a huge impact on the gameplay, as it then has 5 speed, Phase and Backfire (apart from Snipe). Right now, it would be either 2500 Vouchers / 70k DEC to get there, or $47,50 on the secondary market (which is, again, cheaper). I do think I will get this card, it is too universally good to miss out on. I just don't know how, yet :-D
Also, it could be a good investment. It might appreciate over time, due to its value to gameplay.
I've seen a lot of comments that think the price is a bit too high. As you say, it's “only” a rare card and even if it has its qualities, it's hardly affordable for many players to get the card to their appropriate level.
Especially in lower tiers he's quite decent to utilize in my opinion. Although there's quite a cost associated with the card so not that easy to get your hands on the card. Overall, I would say it's a great addition! :D
Presumably the card is good or rather “unique” in the lower leagues because there are few cards with the Snipe ability there. It's a good way to surprise your opponents.
Picked up a lvl 4 but don’t think I’ll be able to get to a max
Definitely a great addition to a Nidhogger or Lorkus lineup, the skill set looks like it will work well in a number of rulesets but will excel in wands out.
Yes, the two Summoners you list could be really strong in combination with Kelan Gaines.
So this is tricky cause I am totally impartial lol.
As a lower tier player I would never have enough Vouchers to buy him. So 2 weeks ago or so I decided to buy 100 Vouchers to have. Then Kelan Gaines popped up and I was able to buy 1 card... As you know already, I got a Gold Foil Kelan Gaines!
So the card itself I love and will never part with because of the 3 or 4% odds that I pulled to get a Gold Foil.
I have used him a handful of times and lost almost all of those battles but that is purely because I just wanted to play with my new toy. I think the card itself is great and a good addition, I just need to use him at the right time.
I mean come on.. It's just a pretty card by itself!
But also the 2 Magic and 6 Health being Death AND Dragon is OP for me (as a low tier player that is)
Congratulations again on the Gold Foil! You're most happy about such lucky breaks and I hope you'll be able to play the card a few more times when you win a battle. :D
I have to admit that I don't think Kelan Gaines is that strong, but I haven't really played or tried the card yet. I don't think the Snipe Ability is bad, but for eight mana I don't think the stats themselves are that outstanding. As I said before, it's also very expensive, so I only bought 1 BCX myself. Nevertheless, I'm happy to be convinced otherwise and would be delighted if the card wins a battle or two for me.
And the Winner is...
It's time to draw the winner of the last giveaway.
Congratulations @olaf.gui, one HSBI has been sent to you!

Thank you for the prize!
I prefer Modern because it's the one I have the cards for.
It used to be modern but nowadays it's rather wild as most of my cardset isn't suitable for modern anymore.
I would go with Modern as Wild needs the pass
I prefer to play in Modern as I mainly have CL and REB cards, hoping Conclave Arcana will add to my rebellion deck and I can move up the leagues, do have a bot for wild though for when I can’t spend all my energy
!BBH
For me currently it is wild mode. I just have to much going in IRL to be checking in daily and playing all my battles. Plus recently my guild lost some key players so one one of our buildings got downgraded. So those people being around to talk with is a missing piece.
Hello, my favorite is the Modern format due to being new. Every day I try out new styles to win and try to beat the competition. Usually I lose but I'm glad to play and earn some SPS!
