Rebellion Reward Card Set 99.9% Completed at the End

in Splinterlandsyesterday

The end of the the Rebellion Reward Set printing will come next Tuesday, and until then there is the last chance for anyone who wants to hit their targets with that set using Glint instead of DEC (i.e. buying what they still need from the market).

I have one card that is not at max level: Olivia of the Brook, level 5 instead of 6. I chose not to pursue max level for Olivia some months ago because I only had 2 copies above level 5 when I maxed out all other epics, and I would have paid a lot of Glint to get the remaining copies.

It seems to have been a good decision, since only today I was able to max out my last legendary card: Death Ranger.

Last level added the Scavanger ability, which can be very useful sometimes, especially since Death Ranger has Void Armor and shouldn't die so quickly. At least not from magic attackers. It also has Close Range, so it's fine if it's the only card left.

My goal was to have a full regular set, which was nearly accomplished, since I don't have Olivia at max level. But I think I did well. Better than on the last set, where I had two legendary cards not maxed.

Let's add screenshots for later reference:

And here's the situation with the missing Olivia:

And here comes Conclave Arcana Reward Card Set with many changes...

Conclave Arcana Reward Card Set

I'll need to go through the document myself again before I decide on how I want to approach the new reward card set.

We see from the start there will be more options, a way to unlock cards using Glint or Land resources (instead of DEC) or to win premium cards (black foil, and the arcane variants for BF and GF), at the cost of much higher priced rarity draws and chests.

It's probably a good compromise between the desires of various players. One thing is relatively clear: it is very unlikely to complete a new regular set with the new prices, at least for me. Unless... more Glint could be earned in the future, for example in the Frontier mode. It would still be very difficult, so I will probably have to make some decisions on what I want to focus on.

With the new unlocking mechanism, that may be something to consider. Looking at the market price for the Death Ranger card I added above, that would be worth 77$, based on the price of a single copy. That's not negligible, and happens even if the prices of the Splinterlands cards aren't doing well (I don't check them often since I rarely trade cards).

Not much of a Glint stash for the coming set, I'm afraid, while others have been gathering their Glint for months. But that's almost the same situation as with Rebellion. Maybe I was able to hold on to more Glint from the last season than now, and I think I had more duplicates to burn, but overall not a strong start then either.

Sort:

It's too bad that you didn't max that one card, but at least you can purchase it off the market. It just doesn't seem to be worth the glint cost because you can use it on the next set.

Yeah, I don't think about it much! I made peace about not having it maxed a few months ago. Depending on its price on the market, maybe I'll buy the remaining copies, but I won't be bothered if it remained at level 5.

yeah for just one level of olivia just let it be or buy single cards on market... i guess i will try my fortune on chests and sell what i can sell
