Experts say the Third wave of the CoVid is almost broken down in UK and Russia, not sure how much is true of that, but, definitely Corona isn't over yet and we all need to be cautious and practice the etiquette we have practiced so far without any compromise.

Here is my this week's blog for the Splinterlands weekly challenge and this time, we have a Fire splinter monster Efreet Elder and I am gonna take you thru the lineup I used and few details about the battle as well and I hope you enjoy reading this content.

Efreet Elder is rather new monster from rewards cards category and it's a magic attack monster belonging to rewards cards and is a rare monster.

This monster is not much used by me because of the lesser attack and more mana cost and with the same mana cost, we have monsters which gives 2 or 3 attack and hence, this will be something I don't use, but yes, this is an opportunity to explore the good things about this monster and see if I can use it regularly.

This monster hasn't that great stats at lower levels as it just gives single magic attack until it's upgraded to level 4 and it won't increase further until it's upgraded to level 8 which is the maximum level this monster can have.

The speed is something on better side for this monster as it starts with 3 speed and increases to 4 rather fast by level 3 and remains same throughout 8 levels.

The health is the best part of this monster and that will be a positive even at lower levels as it starts with 8 health and increases to 9 from second level and goes to a max of 10 from level 7.

It has couple of good abilities as it starts with last standing ability from level 1 and it gets another ability phase which gives it a chance to evade even the magic attacks!!!

Lineup:

High mana battles always makes it fun as we can lineup some good monsters and this one was with mana cap of 44, but had some negative rule sets like back to basic and stampede.

While back to basic restricts to monsters to lose all abilities, stampede allows a trample ability monster to keep attacking multiple monsters one after the other if the monster it attacks gets removed from the attack by monster with trample ability.

The back to basics ruleset made me to use Fire splinter with my level 1 Yodin Zaku summoner since it can give maximum attack to monsters by the blast ability it has.

So, I used below lineup for this battle to check my luck of winning it.

1. Magnor:

image.png

Magnor is a monster with huge health of 14 and it gives an attack of 4 even at level 1 and I used this to make use of blast from the First position.

2. Efreet Elder:

image.png

Efreet Elder as I mentioned is not a monster I use most, but I wanted to try it in Second position since it has 9 health and can also give a magic attack.

3. Goblin Fireballer:

image.png

Goblin Fireballer is a 2 mana cost monster and gives 2+1 ranged attack when used with Yodin Zaku and it was a good addition to this attack to keep other high attack monsters to follow it.

4. Ettin Spearman:

image.png

Ettin Spearman is lower on speed side, but this is with high ranged attack of 4 and has nice health too. Another good thing about this monster is it's ability of pierce to reduce main health along with armors, but that wasn't of use in this battle since it was a back to basics battle.

5. Mantoid:

Mantoid is anther monster best used with Yodin Zaku as it is also a ranged attack monster and in normal battles, it even works as a snipe attack monster to attack the first magic/ranged attack monster from second line.

It's 3 ranged attack will be 3+2 because of blast and these are some of the good ones with the summoner I used.

6. Fire Elemental:

Lastly, I used Fire Elemental as it is with high speed of 5 and gives 3+2 attack with blast as like Mantoid.

Battle:

This high mana cost battle had good monsters from both sides with opponent having lined monsters like Shieldbearer and remaining all ranged attack monsters like Silvershield Sheriff, Centaur, Peacebringer, Evangelist and Cornealus which is one of the good one with attack total of 16 attack in each round.

Attack-wise, both didn't have any difference but since the Yodin Zaku makes the monsters to have blast attack, the attack for the monsters I used will be more.

Here I am sharing some of the screenshots from the battle for your review and enjoyment and I am sure you will agree that this was a good battle:

That was a battle got over in 4 rounds as we can see from above screenshots and only Magnor was removed from the monsters I used while finishing that battle and that ensures this was an easy one for me. Blast made that win an easy one and I am sure you will agree with me.

Let's go thru the questions as part of this weekly challenge as provided in the Splinterlands blog.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

The easy with which I won the battle makes me feel that, the lineup was good even with level 1 summoner and that can confirm I think that the strategy was good and except for the Efreet Elder, all the other monsters were the ones I normally use.

Efreet Elder wasn't bad as we can see from the lineup I used as it prevented any further exposure of the ranged attack monsters I used since it didn't get removed because of the good health it has.

Do you like the EFREET ELDER? Why or why not?

I kind of not used it much, but my experience from this battle says that, it isn't that bad with it's good health, it can be used when we have such back to basics battles.

Thanks for the encouragement I get from all in the form of comments, upvotes and it's been a good journey for me to have these battles and bring out the blogs like this and I continue to do so :)

Thank you all.
