Hello battlers,
https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-carrionshade
The new week has brought a challenge which we all love as for as Splinterlands is concerned and this week, we have another Chaos Legion edition monster which, we might not have used much, but this is the opportunity to explore it thru this week's challenge and the monster we have this week is: Carrion Shade
Summoner - Zintar Mortalis:
The summoner I used is the one from Beta edition and the name as we all know is the Zintar Mortalis. Inspire of many summoners introduced into Death Splinter, this base edition summoner still holds prominence because of the impact it brings to the lineup it summons as it gives an edge over opponent's monsters by reducing the melee attack by 1 for all the melee monsters used by opponent.
I just have a level 4 summoner, but it still is of great use for me in winning battles.
Theme Monster - Carrion Shade:
As I mentioned above, this is a monster from Chaos Legion edition and being a 1 MANA cost monster with lesser attack and health, it will be very less used unless we have a ruleset where, this will have more strengths.
One such rule set will be the equalizer ruleset and here I am presenting a battle with the same ruleset to get maximum benefit from this monster.
Lineup:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_670f334329a897b6ae71ae696c3b1a3b&ref=goldmonsters
As we see, the battle had huge mana cap of 58 and I felt it's a good opportunity to make use of theme monster of Carrion Shade since we can accommodate many high profile monsters because of huge mana cap and to add to that, there was equalizer ruleset which will allow the Carrion Shade and other monsters to have health of monster with maximum health on either side.
The rulesets and the huge mana cap made me to select this nice lineup as I explain below.
1. Undead Rexx:
With it's trample ability, it gives an option of attacking 2 monsters given the First monster gets removed.
Beside that ability, it gives huge enough melee attack of 5 to almost wipe out a monster in each round.
2. Carrion Shade:
This theme monster is used as a backup for the Undead Rexx to protect the monsters to follow as it can take on few blows to stay alive for a round or Two to ensure the monsters to follow it will have few more rounds of attacks.
3. Sand Worm:
Another monster with huge melee attack and being a sneak attack monster, it will keep attacking from the other end of the lineup.
It's 3 speed is not much but will make it to attack early compared to few of my other monsters in this lineup.
4. Silent Sha-Vi
It's one of the most used Chaos Legion edition monsters for it's nice melee attack which is a sneak attack too and also it attacks early because of it's speed of 5!!!
5. Octopider:
Used this to reduce the melee attack as it has demoralize ability to -1 the melee attack from all the melee monsters used by opponent.
6. Grim Reaper:
Lastly, used this to utilize the 4 ranged attack and also to remove healing if the monster from opponent's side posses that as it has affliction ability to remove healing.
Battle:
With those details of summoner, theme monster and lineup, I started the battle and here I am sharing few snaps of the battle to visualize the important monster removals in this battle.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Yes, the usage of 2 ranged attack monsters with huge attack and couple of those melee attack monsters with even stronger attack made it possible and Carrion Shade stopped the monster removal by it's huge health due to equalizer ruleset and allowed me to complete this battle on winning side.
Do you like the CARRION SHADE? Why or why not?
To be frank, I haven't used it at all prior to this, but like in this battle, it looks to be a good candidate for equalizer ruleset battles.
It can be used even in low mana cap battles having that ruleset mentioned and it can be a good one to protect the monsters following it.
That was a good battle for the rulesets and the mana cap provided and it wasn't an easy task to beat a lineup having Uriel The Purifier, Sand Worm and other monsters.
I hope you liked this battle, Thank you.
Thats the benifit of low cost mana splinter while comes the opportunity rules set, and i have few !PIZZA for it.
Thank you, there are many such low mana cost monsters introduced in Chaos Legion edition, those all will be of huge help in mini league and equalizer ruleset battles.

Your battle was great, I would recommend you to make the images of the monsters smaller, but the quality is acceptable, although you can improve it.
On the other hand, you have more than a year in the platform, it would be good if you made a presentation post in communities like GEMS or OCD.
