Hello Splinterlands community, for the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge this week I need to share some of my favorite battle strategies in the game which includes the card combination and building the right team composition which gives you an edge when the battle begins .Being that said, for the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge for this week, I want to focus on talking about the favorable battle strategies Quora Towershead which allows this unit to take over the battlefield. This unit is a very powerful one as this unit strikes twice with a combination of melee and magic damage to the enemy team. Additionally, this unit has the Bloodlust ability which further enchances the melee and magic damage it deals to the enemy team everytime this unit takes down an enemy monster. It also notable that this unit has a great amount of health which allows this unit to be a frontline for the team and also has the Heal ability which gives this unit a good sustainability in the match. I will keep sharing my thoughts about the favorable battle strategies for Quora Towershead and provide some tips and techniques on how to utilize this powerful unit very well in your battles.

Card Combination

This is the battle strategy that I want to share for the Splinterlands Community Engagement challenge this week. This card combination that consists of Fungus Flinger, Quora Towershead and Goblin Psychic is proven to be effective in the battle when the right combination of Mana Pool, available elements and Rulesets are considered very well during the planning of the team composition for the battle. I will go deep down and explain the importance as well as the relevance of each units involve for this card combination that I will share which I believe would help you rise the ladder in your ranked battles, guild brawls and tournaments.

- Fungus Flinger

image.png

Fungus Flinger is an earth unit that deals ranged damage to the enemy team and it has a low amount of health. This unit also has the Martyr ability which is very important for this team composition. That ability allows the adjacent ally units of this monster to get additional buff on all their stats if this unit was taken down by the enemy team. For this particular team composition, the Fungus Field should be placed in front of the Quora Towershead, so that Quora Towershead would take advantage the effect of the Martyr ability which boosts the overall statistics of that unit making it more destructive in the battlefield.

- Quora Towershead

image.png

Quora Towershead is the main carry for this card combination. This Gladius earth unit deals both melee and magic damage to the enemy opponents at the same time. This unit also has a great amount of health which makes this card a great frontline for the team. It also has the Heal ability which allows this card to regain some health each round. As mentioned above, this unit would be the main beneficiary of the effect of the Martyr ability from Fungus Flinger which enhances not only the melee and magic damage of this unit but also increases the health and speed of this unit. Those buffs would be a major key and factor that allow this unit to take down enemy monsters smoothly and activates the Bloodlust ablity of this unit which further boosts the overall statistics of this unit when it was able to take down enemy units.

- Goblin Psychic

image.png

Goblin Psychic is also an earth unit that also deals magic damage to the enemy units and this unit has the tank heal ability. That ability allows this unit to heal the unit that is currently in the first position of the team. As mentioned above, Quora Towershead has a great amount of health which makes it a good frontline for the team. Additionally that unit has the Heal ability which gives that unit a good sustainability each round, however the Heal ability may not be enough to restore most of the health that was lost during the past rounds which makes Quora Towershead a bit vulnerable as the match progresses. Having an additional healing from Goblin Psychic would allow Quora Towershead to continue its dominance in the battlefield without worrying on its health.

Battle Strategies

The card combination above shows the domination of Quora Towershead in the battlefield where that unit can take over the match if everything works according to the plan. Being that said, it is important to consider the variables that may effect the capability of this team composition which involves the mana pool, elements available in the battle, summoners to be used and the rulesets present in the match which could make this team composition not playable. I will walk through on each variables that I think is important if you are planning to play this team composition that I have shared.

1. Mana Pool and Available Elements

image.png

The first thing to watch out for when you are planning to try this team composition is checking the available elements that is present in the battle. Since all the units in the team composition are all from the earth element, it could only be deployed if the earth element is present in the match. The second thing that needs to be considered is the available mana that is allocated for the match. Since Quora Towershead is a high-cost mana unit considering the offensive capability and abilities that this unit have, this team composition would not work when there is a low mana available for the match. The Mana pool available for the match should be at least 25 Mana or below depending on the summoner that you are using for the match, in order to deploy the card combination that was mentioned above.

2. Summoners

image.png

Lobb Lowland

This summoner serves as the best option to choose when you are planning to deploy this team combination in your ranked battles. This earth summoner decreases the speed of all enemy monsters at the beginning of the match. Furthermore this summoner allows you to deploy a card from the Gladius set which makes this team composition a reality in the ranked battles. This summoner would be also a good choice when playing the team composition in Guild brawls as this allows you to deploy more Gladius units for the team.

image.png

Helios Matriarch

This summoner serves as a great alternative option when you are planning to use the team combination that was shared in your ranked battles if both earth and dragon element is present in the match. This dragon summoner gives additional speed to all your units at the beginning of the match. This speed buff allows the team to strike early each round which gives opportunity for Quora Towershead to deal damage to the enemy team and possibly taking down those enemy monsters immediately. Moreover, choosing this summoner in the match gives you the ability to deploy Gladius units in the match like Lobb Lowland. The key difference between the two summoners is that this summoner allows you to deploy not only earth Gladius units but also dragon elements from the Gladius set and other sets available in the match.

Are You Not Entertained

There is also an opportunity to deploy this team composition using other summoners beside Lobb Lowland and Helios Matriarch in your ranked battles. This could be possible if the Are You Not Entertained ruleset is present in the match. This ruleset allows both teams to deploy a Gladius unit for their respective team. Having the ability to deploy Gladius unit without relying on the summoner would be a huge opportunity to boosts the team composition by choosing the summoner that grants the best buff for the whole team.

3. Rulesets to watch for

image.png

Little League

This ruleset is not favorable if your are planning to deploy this team composition in your battles and guild brawls. This ruleset only allows monsters that has a mana cost of 4 and below that are allowed to used in the match. This makes the team composition not playable with this ruleset since Fungus Flinger would only be the one that is available for this type of match.

image.png

Odd Ones Out

This ruleset is also not good as well if your are planning to deploy this team composition in your battles and guild brawls. This ruleset only allows monsters that has an odd mana cost to be available for the match. This makes the team composition not playable if this ruleset is present in the match since Quora Towershead costs 10 mana to be able to deploy in the match as well as Goblin Psychic that has a mana cost of 6. The only unit that can be deployed in this match would be Fungus Flinger that has a mana cost of 3.

image.png

Shades of Gray

Another ruleset to watch out for is the Shades of Gray ruleset. This ruleset is not great for this team composition as this summoner only allows neutral element monsters to be deployed in the battlefield regardless of the available mana and elements that is present in the match. This ruleset would make the team composition totally not playable in the match since all the units mentioned in the card combination are earth element units which makes this ruleset not favorable for the team composition.

image.png

Silenced Summoners

Another ruleset that could be a major hindrance for the team composition in ranked battles would be the Silenced Summoner ruleset. This ruleset removes the ability and buffs that the summoner provides for the team and also removes the negative effects that it could bring to the enemy team. Since this team composition heavily relies on Quora Towershead to become the main source of damage and frontline for the team, it is important to consider that this unit would be available and could be deploy in the team for the match. Having this ruleset present in ranked battles would cause Quora Towershead not to become playable for the match that makes this team composition not very much effective against the enemy team.

My Battle

image.png

This is the modern ranked battle that I would want to share where I utilize my favorite battle strategy which consists of Fungus Flinger, Quora Towershead and Goblin Psychic alongside with other earth element monster to take down the enemy team. The position of Fungus Flinger and Quora Towershead is crucial in order to execute this team composition properly. If the enemy team was able to take down my Fungus Flinger, it would prompt the Martyr ability which allows my Quora Towershead to have an additional damages and health when it is now placed in the first position of the team. The buffs coming from the Martyr ability allows Quora Towershead to take over the match and take down the enemy monsters one by one as the match progresses. The tank heal ability from Goblin Psychic also plays a big role to ensure that Quora Towershead would be healthy enough to survive the damage it would receive from the enemy team each round. If you want to see the execution on how this team composition work in the match and witness all the action of this match, you can watch it by opening the battle link below.
