Splinterlands Frontier Format Updated

Greetings to all Splinterlands players! In this week's Social Media Challenge, we will look into the latest update on the free to play Frontier Format. In the update, players can now earn raffle entries by completing the daily missions. The prizes are very valuable, they are Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane and Black Foil Arcane versions of the Foundation cards. Seventy six cards will be given away each week to players who participated in the raffles.

Another update is the ability to use Alchemy and Legendary potions when claiming daily Frontier reward cards. The chances of getting gold foil and legendary cards have increased because of the ability to use potions.

One more update is about the Frontier advancement chests. Now each chest has a 40% chance of being cards, 20% chance of being potions, 20% chance of being Frontier energy and 20% chance of being raffle entries.

I finished one mission and included in the chest rewards is one raffle entry.

Upon claiming the reward chests, there is now an option to use Alchemy and Legendary potions. I ticked both to increase my chances of getting better cards.

I received two common cards and one raffle entry. I would have like to get an archon to level them up.

The dashboard shows that I have one Frontier entry. I will play some more games to get more entries and increase my winning chances.

The Games I Won to Complete Daily Missions

The games in the Frontier Format is more balanced and depends on skill compared to card power. We are generally playing with the same set of cards. It depends on how we use them in the games that will decide the winner.

In the next game, the archons don't give boosts to the team and legendary cards are not allowed. My opponent chose the Earth element while I chose Death. Both teams have a good balance of cards. I relied more on my magic units while the enemy team has powerful archers.

I got the advantage later in the game because his archers cannot attack from the front position. Even if they have strong attacks, they cannot use them once they reach the front while my mages can.

In the next game, the enemy team chose the Earth element again while I chose Fire. The rules include Melee Mayhem that's why I chose Fire. They have strong melee units and the Fire archon gives them speed.

Like in the first game, the enemy team relies on their strong archers but the rules favor melee units. My team was quick to dispose of some enemy units and left him with his archers. Like in the first game, they are useless in offense when they take the front position.

This time, we both chose the Death element. The rules are Super Sneak but there was also Briar Patch. It's not advisable to use melee because it will be damaged by Thorns.

The enemy has two melee units in the team while I only had one. I relied on my long range attackers, magic and archers. The enemy team wanted to take advantage of Super Sneak and put another melee unit but it will get damaged by Thorns when it attacks.

In this battle, the enemy team and ours both chose the Water element. The rules don't allow archons to grant buffs and there was also Earthquake that damages the units every turn.

My team is composed of two strong magic users. I have a strong new card, Saltwater Mage that has two magic attacks and five life. The enemy team has more units but my team has more life and attacks. The enemy team cannot handle both the earthquake damage and attacks from my team.

Conclusion

The new update give players more incentives to keep playing the game. Fifteen wins every day are needed to complete the missions and the rewards are juicier than before. The new raffle rewards are a great motivation to play more and complete the daily missions. I will try to complete them to have more chances on the raffle draws.
