I like Serpent of Eld but I stopped using it as much because it dies too fast to magic. So in a way, I guess it depends.

Yes I'm aware of that, I usually prefer Serpent of Eld when the opposing player is less likely to use magic attackers. Based on the battle rule and the NFT cards the opposing player had, the probability of choosing a magic attacker was very slim.
