Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Sometimes quality is better than quantity with Quora

in Splinterlands2 days ago (edited)

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because of Quora Towershead.

Featured cards

Quora Towershead is a earth splinter that costs 10 mana. It starts off with the bloodlust ability and heal. As it levels up, it gains the immunity ability at level 3 and dispel at level 5. I have this card at level 4 so it has up to immunity. I like using this card because of how powerful it is when the bloodlust stacks.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Fog of War and Tis but Scratches. This means that all monsters gain the cripple ability, and some monsters lose their targeting abilities. There are 19 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, earth, or death splinter.

Lobb Lowland is my summoner for its -1 speed and access to a gladiator. Fungus Flinger is my tank because I want that martyr ability to land on Quora. After that is Quora for its stats and bloodlust. At the same time, it can heal and the immunity can stop the cripple from affecting it. This means that I should win so long as I can outlast my opponent.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. My opponent went for a lineup that is more about numbers, but the magic monsters do outpace my heal. So it depends more on whether or not I can finish off my opponent's monsters fast enough. I think that the martyr combined with the bloodlust is enough to make Quora a beast in this fight. My opponent shouldn't last that long once that bloodlust stacks.

Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent is just left with the two magic monsters but my Quora is buffed up quite a bit. At this point, this match is my win. My Quora has enough damage to kill off all the monsters with just the magic damage.

I won this match later that round because I didn't miss my attacks. Quora is just that powerful when that bloodlust stacks.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went as I expected. Quora was the perfect card for this ruleset because it can't get crippled. The low mana also meant that my opponent couldn't use very many powerful cards and once Quora started stacking bloodlust, it was unstoppable. Using a martyr monster in front only made Quora more powerful and it was a great choice in this match. One thing to note is that the cripple did help me due to the healer in my opponent's lineup. It let me kill off the monsters a bit faster.

You can see my entire match here.

Yea. Quora is an overpowered card. It's hard to beat.
