SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE : MATSUURI KEI

image.png

Today is the final day for the 2nd airdrop conflict countdown. I managed to finished with 291 reward points. But this number unfortunately only brought to me 1 regular card (which just earned from the guaranteed 250 RP). My gain is underperformed by the overall pool, but nothing could be done, so we should just move on to the 3rd airdrop conflict. I don't think Kei is somewhat a unique card. A 6 mana melee card with Reach and 3 damage is quite difficult to find (card such as Flying Squid and Arachned Thug started with 2 damage), but still the damage different isn't much. Thought we know Kei had the new Enfeeble ability, its more of a downgrade version of Halving. So I decided to test this card directly.

WATCH BATTLE

So here I bring a battle experience with Kei in the formation. Click BATTLE LINK to see how the battle run.

Here in this battle we have Maneuvers and Lost Magic as the rulesets. While all Splinters are available except for the Life Splinter.

For this battle my main focus is to test Kei with its ability. The amount of mana is quite large, enough for a full scale formation. For my summoner, I picked Akane. The frontline will be led my Mantaroth and followed by Kei with its Reach (although in this battle the ruleset allowed Reach for all cards). Next I decided to go with a Sneak squad consist of Daigendark Hunter, Silent Sha-Vi, and Fenmoor Haunt. Lastly there is Dhampir Stalker to help push the frontline.

Accross the line my opponent decide to run with a Fire Splinter conducted by Tarsa. Its a cunning strategy putting Venari Marksrat as cannon fodder and collect Martyr benefit. Ferox Defender follow next and then followed by Disintegrator, something which I didn't anticipate. The next 2 cards is a powerful damage dealer, Lava Launcher and Tenyii Striker. Lastly there's Antoid Platoon, which althought it couldn't contribute any damage its in the exact spot to block my Sneak attack.

I capitalize the Ambush effect very well, the attack managed to put Venari Marksrat into demise. But the battle is just about to begin. My Sneak strategy faill to perform effectively not only due to Shield but also due to Demoralize. This will give Tenyii Striker extra round to dismantle my rear squad. Meanwhile my frontier put significant blow to break down Ferox armor. The Enfeeble took effect and bring down melee damage to 2, which might looks small but save Mantaroth from get rounded up damage.

image.png

Please noted that the 3rd round shown here meaning the 2nd round, because Splinterlands seemed to read Round 1 as the round where Ambush take place. The battle continue to 3rd round, but still no significant kill was made. But both formation sustain quite damage on both front and back position. But by the end of the round Dhampir Stalker has to submit into Tenyii Striker. The battle continue to the 3rd round.

image.png

The 4th round open with a kill from Kei into Ferox Defender. Daigendark also put a kill into Antoid Platoon. But by the end of the round my formation is wornd out very much, Mantaroth and Fenmoor Haunt down into their last health.

image.png

Disintegrator and Tenyii Striker still on full health and its a challange to pull them down in single round. I have to yield Mantaroth and Fenmoor Haunt on this round. By the end of the round its 3 against 3.

image.png

The 6th round turn the tide of the battle into my side. With better intitiative, my formation managed to put a kill into Tenyii Striker, cancelling its chance to act this round. And Kei fortunately survived the round by avoiding the incoming attack from Disintegrator.

image.png

Kei make a kill on Disintegrator but have to fall down when Lava Launcher put a counter attack. I made a big blunder by putting Daigendark in front of Silent Sha-Vi. Daigendark is left idle with no chance to attack. Fortunately Silent Sha-Vi able to deal 3 melee damage which is eaxactly the neeeded damage to put Lava Launcher to end for good.

CONCLUSION

I think Kei really utilize its Enfeeble very well in this battle. The ability works very well against those card with very high melee damage. But still it will take 2 - 3 round to scale down the damage to become non-significant.
