Impotrance of Monster Placements - Splinterlands Brawls

in Splinterlands11 months ago

I am back with another BRAWL report for this week's Splinterlands Social Media challenge. While this may not be my best brawl, it is certainly entertaining and highlights the significance of strategic monster placement.

BATTLES

GAME 1

The first game was a massacre. The opponent couldn't withstand the relentless aggression of my lineup. The significant difference in speed and power between our monsters allowed my team to effortlessly eliminate all of the enemy's cards.

GAME 2

Similar to the first game, my strategy was to select an aggressive lineup. Since the ruleset disabled heals in the game, my primary objective was to swiftly eliminate the enemy.

GAME 3

In the third game, my strategy was to maximize the potential of my LLAMA + QUORA combo and ensure that my QUORA would receive the LAST STAND buff from LLAMA to secure my victory. However, the enemy had assembled an exceptional lineup specifically designed to counter MAGIC DAMAGE, possessing high magic damage themselves. As a result, my LLAMA + QUORA combo was unable to withstand their onslaught.

GAME 4

The fourth game was a close one. The enemy made a single mistake by placing their MITICA in the third position, which prevented them from fully capitalizing on its high basic damage. This decision ultimately cost them the game. With their MITICA eliminated, my lineup had the advantage in terms of damage output, resulting in my victory.

GAME 6

I took a gamble assuming that the enemy would opt for a full heavy melee lineup in light of the MELEE MAYHEM ruleset. Consequently, my card choices were focused entirely on countering such a lineup, with monsters possessing the SHIELD and DEMORALIZE abilities. Additionally, I positioned a high-speed monster with the FLYING ability in the final position. However, the enemy surprised me by opting for heavy magic damage instead. Without any magic resistance in my lineup, my monsters faltered, ultimately leading to my defeat in the game.

GAME 7

In the 7th game, my strategy revolved around maximizing the LAST STAND ability of LLAMA. However, I made a mistake by choosing ACID SHOOTER and positioning it in the last position. Fortunately, my MYCELIC INFANTRY managed to hold off the enemy, ultimately leading to our victory, thanks to the BRIAR PATCH ruleset.

GAME 8

In the final game, I opted for a cheeky lineup, selecting monsters with the SNEAK, OPPORTUNITY, and SNIPE abilities. I also ensured that their speed was 2 or less to fully utilize the REVERSE SPEED ruleset. However, the enemy had a superior lineup with greater speed and power, leaving me outgunned and resulting in my loss.

AFTERWORDS

The brawl was a grueling challenge, but I was fortunate to have incredible teammates who propelled our alliance to a commendable second place. This game served as a powerful reminder that relying solely on countering the enemy's strategies doesn't guarantee victory. Taking calculated risks is essential, yet if those risks don't yield the desired results, the game can quickly turn into a catastrophe. It was a valuable lesson learned, reminding me to adapt and approach future battles with a combination of strategic planning and measured risk-taking.
