For those of you who watched the town hall on Tuesday 9/6/2022 you know that we have some new epic Riftwatcher Summoners coming to the game very soon! That's exciting news and will lead to a change in gameplay I'm sure!

With all the new cards coming to the game I wanted to do some theory crafting with the new water summoner Aquatus and show some cards that I think will be good combinations. If these perform well in ranked battles that might also lead to a increase in price. With that said now may be best to grab some cards on the market before others find out what combinations work best.

Oshannus is already a great card and has to be up first to combine with Aquatus although these aren't ordered in any specific way. His high speed, void armor, phase, forcefield and now backfire will make this guy a much more formidable front line card against magic and melee. I think he is a obvious choice though and many of you most likely already know that.

River Nymph isn't all that fast but what makes her good is the amplify which will increase the damage output of Aquatus's summoner ability every time the enemy misses. Additionally at max level she will provide the swiftness ability to your whole lineup increasing those miss chances!

Baakjira isn't all that fast I'll give you that but he can slow everyone down helping the whole team. With some swiftness ability cards and Baakjira's slow, high health pool, and healing he is bound to get a couple misses from the enemy making a no damage card quite threatening!

If Diemonshark wasn't already a beast he definitely will be now! Enrage paired with his high health, high armor and now backfire will make the card scary in my opinion. I can imagine a magic card hitting this guy early on in the battle activating enrage then for the rest of the match Diemonshark just decimates the enemy team as long as it's not a lineup that's to magic heavy. On top of that if they manage to hit it he may retaliate causing more damage.

This guy is pretty expensive but is one of the fastest if not the fastest card within the water splinter. Flight gives him 25% miss chance while doge gives him another 25%. If paired with backfire from Aquatus he will be a force to be reckoned with at least against melee.

Thanks for reading and let me know which cards you guys think will pair well with Aquatus in the comments!
