Hey fellow Splinterlands fans, another Thursday, another Splinterlands post for me so welcome back to my Splinterlands blog where today I will be making my first challenge post for this week.
The Splinterlands team launches THREE different challenges every week, and you can participate in two of them per human being (so not per account!) and I can really recommend when you're a Splinterlands player you should participate in them so you can earn something extra to buy more assets with like cards or SPS to help you win more and earn more - so you can buy more and on and on! 😎

This weeks Social Media Challenge is about the launch of the new set called Conclave Arcana that went live last Tuesday.

This marks a completely new era for every Splinterlands player, with a lot of new cards, new abilities and new synergies we have yet to find between the new set, the existing Rebellion set and the reward cards.

In the eye of the storm

As of last monday, I stopped playing because of the launch of the new set the next day and with it, the rotation from Chaos Legion out of Modern League.
Chaos Legion was the set that launched in 2021 in the middle of the bull run, and a LOT of packs were sold, so many that everything was overprinted and it's the same with the printing of money, when you print more the value dilutes so it became known as 'the cheap set' - a mistake by the Splinterlands team for sure.
That's all being corrected now and Modern League will be restored again with the two newest sets Rebellion and Conclave Arcana, because it's not affordable for most players to play at the top now, like it was meant to be, the lower leagues will probably be filled by a lot more players than liquidity bots only and I'm really looking forward for this.

So, I've stopped playing my accounts last Monday and for the last 3.5 years I only stop playing in the summer when I'm on holiday with my family so it's something rare for me, it's like being in the eye of the storm really, complete silence, before everything starts raging again.

Part of the reason why I stopped playing was because I was in the 40's on the Diamond leader board, where I would get 100k glint as a reward but unfortunately in the last days I have now dropped to position 62 but it's still good for a 50k glint reward.
My new deck is not Diamond level as before but Silver level because of the much higher set price for the newer sets so I would get my ass kicked. 😅

Opening packs!

While I didn't play, of course I couldn't resist opening my 10 packs I bought in the pre-sale once the official launch started, with the new black and arcane foils there's a new dimension in opening packs, pulling a very rare card will be like winning a prize in the lottery, the amount of money that the card is worth can be substantial, possibly life changing in some parts of the world, I really hope some of these rare cards get pulled by smaller players who can really use it, I mean of course I would be thrilled when I am the lucky one but I don't really need it. 🙂

So, I only bought ten packs, worth $40 which I bought with my blogging earnings to support the Splinterlands team and to earn that nice promo card. Currently my focus is not on the new set but on Splinterlands land that will be here forever, and because I'm here for the long run, and land won't be this affordable forever I'm betting on that, a new set will always be here in about 18 more months.

Well, let's get going, I know it's not much but it's still 10 packs!

Well, 10 packs but some of the cards are doubles so it only displays 7 packs, I think it would be more fun if they just let you open literally all packs even if it has doubles.

it's definitely more than the minimum of 4 commons and 1 rare card that's guaranteed to be in a pack so I'm pretty happy with what I've got and I will start building the new set from here and buy what I need from the secondary marketplace, but probably not right away when cards are still scarce, first let more packs be opened to they get less scarce, driving prices down.

Peakmonsters and Splintercards are not tracking the value of Conclave Arcana just yet so I can't see how much my cards are worth at the moment compared to the $40 I spent on the packs, it's not of real importance because they're work horses is my deck, meant to win me battles to earn SPS!

New abilities and synergies

I will need to learn the new abilities and memorize the icons, I didn't study them just yet because I do better by doing so I will just learn while playing in the new season. 😃

It's getting close!!!

The reason why I planned making my post before season end is I want to play once the game is out of the maintenance window so I can finally start using my Rebellion deck to its fullest, and my planning was pretty good, with just 6 minutes left in the current season. 😃

I still need to fully decide what cards will go to which account so I can put them to work since I have some accounts to choose from..

@nozem01 this account will be fighting in Wild League, piloted by XBOT with my highest level cards
@nozem this account will be fighting in the new Modern Silver League.
@stella16 will be helping filling the rebellion novice level fray in my guild, as long as it's needed but frays will change now.
@mightyluna will still be filling the gold foil bronze fray for our second guild

And then I have my Gold set left, doing nothing so I will probably bring ANOTHER account online @ne9en and let the Archmage bot run it in Wild League so it can earn a reward deck I will have to rent SPS for it though, but I could also use this deck in survival mode.. but then I first have to manually allow them for survival because I disabled them, since peakmonsters doesn't do this for me. 🙃

Well... we will see how everything unfolds, exiting times for sure!
