• Purchase a Spellbook: For just ten dollars, you can unlock additional features by purchasing a Spellbook. Plus, it comes with 3000 in-game credits, which you can use to buy or rent cards and enhance your collection.

• Invest in SPS Tokens: Now comes the decision-making part. Determine which league level you want to start playing at. As a new player, aiming for Silver or Gold league level play is a good starting point. To begin at the Silver level, you'll need around 1000 SPS tokens, which translates to a $25 investment. These tokens will not only enable you to participate in battles but also unlock rewards as you progress.

With just a $35 investment – $10 for the Spellbook and $25 for SPS tokens – you'll be all set to embark on your Splinterlands adventure and start earning cryptocurrency while you're at it. While this option may result in a percentage deduction from your SPS earnings, it's a great way to test the waters before committing to investing in cards.

Now, when it comes to buying cards, I recommend focusing on modern cards, starting with modern rewards cards as they offer great value for beginners. Additionally, investing in the Chaos Legion Core set can significantly boost your competitiveness in the game.

In summary, the total cost of playing in the Silver league and earning full SPS rewards is approximately $269 to $432, depending on your investment preferences. If you're looking to maximize your rewards with a minimum investment, consider starting with around $270. There is a formula that describes how much you earn, but at the bottom of the silver league at Silver 3 with 1000 tokens you earn about 8x reward multiplier which goes from 1x to 12x. 8x to 10x multiplier is the most efficient in my opinion for SPS rewards. If you move up to the top of the silver league: Silver 1 you would need 5,662 SPS tokens to earn the same 8x multiplier. So I were starting out I would buy more than $1000 tokens, I would buy 5,000 SPS tokens right away which would cost you $125 for 5000 SPS tokens and you will start silver 3 with an almost 12x reward multiplier.
