Antoid Platoon

An Antoid Platoon typically consists of five to seven Fire Ants, each approximately the size of a man's fist. They are well armored and wield shields and spears that, while tiny, provide a formidable defense and offense against the antoid's foes. Operating through a shared hive mind, the Antoid Platoon is employed to defend Ant Miners, other workers, the colony, and its queen. They are also known to become aggressive when invaders encroach upon their homes and surrounding territory.

STATS AND OVERVIEW

In low mana cost battles I usually use Antoid Platoon. I like it because of it's Shield ability. I think it is a very usefull ability in low mana cost battles, because most of the low level cards have 1 or 2 damage, so a lot of times Antoid Platoon is unharmed or takes little damage.

It is a common chaos legion card therefore everyone has it because it is part of the basic cards. I personally do own a copy of it. As you can see in the table below at the moment it is a cheap card as a regural foil nor as a gold foil. There are a lot of available copies at the moment.

BATTLE RULESET

I was in gold 2 at the time of the battle. As you can see I had a nice ruleset.
Rules:

Battle modifiersMana capAvailable splinters
Explosive Weaponry40Fire
Rise of the Commons-Death
--Dragon

BATTLE LINE UP

SELENIA SKY

Selenia gives +1 ranged damage. I do not own it, so I rented it out because I had Dragon focus. It costs only 3 mana and it's a legendary so I can use level 3 commons and I used it to my advantage. I chose this summoner because of the limited mana cap, Dragon focus and I was planning to bring ranged monsters into the battle.

ANTOID PLATOON

This week's challenge card. I think it is a really good tank for low mana cost, so I put it into the first row. It's shield ability is a huge advantage against non-magic monsters. I do not own a level 3 copy of it, so I was renting this card.

NAGA ASSASSIN

The Naga Assassin is a really really good Dragon card. It has low mana cost and very high speed. I had a level 2 copy of it so it had increased stats. It's a ranged so it is benefitted by my summoner.

BLOOD MAKER

Another ranged monster the Blood Maker it is a new Reward card. I own this level 2 copy of it. It is quite good, because of it has 2 damage and one of the new abilities Scattershot and relatively high speed. It gets +1 ranged damage from my summoner, due to Scattershot ability it will fire randomly and it has a probability of dealing damage to 3 monsters thanks to Explosive Weaponry ruleset. It could cause 7 damage in one turn and that is huge in my opinion.

SERPENTINE SPY

Serpentine Spy is one of my favourite Fire card. It has low mana cost, 2 damage and one of my favourite abilities Opportunity. Opportunity compared with Explosive Weaponry equals lot of damage. If my opponent organizes her/his monsters badly than it can deal 4 damage to 3 monsters in 1 turn. I love it. I was renting this level 3 copy of it.

KOBOLD MINER

Kobold Miner is a low mana cost good soldier card. It has good damage and most of the time it can survive an attack in low mana battles. It has Sneak ability so it will attack the monster in the last position. So it can open fire on another flank of my enemy's team. I was renting this level 3 copy.

ROUND 1

image.png

I saw that my enemy uses Death teams and the melee damage reducing summoner. So far everything went according to my plans. As you see 4 turns have passed, monsters gained buffs and debuffs in both teams. My team started the battle because we had more speed.

ROUND 2

image.png

In the first round 2 of the enemy monsters died. Because of the Explosive Weaponry and high ranged damage.

As you can see the second was the last round as well. Thanks to my speed, damage and monster level advantage.

Did my strategy work?

Yes, I won the battle. It was a nice win my plan was a success, I enjoyed it.

What will I try differently next time?

Given this ruleset I would not change my lineup. I know that it was a risky tactic, but sometimes you have to risk to win.

Thanks for the reading, I hope you enjoyed, see you on the battlefield!

Thanks for sharing! - @marianaemilia

Good battle, thanks for sharing!

Good win, just wondering why you put your range attack in second spot and not at the end

Thanks. Because of the speed if somehow Antoid Platton gets killed I could hope for some misses. Another reason is I knew that my enemy will come with -1 melee damage and will use some sneak monsters. In this case my melees were the expendables. So I was afraid that they will get killed early if I put them into last position.

I suspected it was speed, thanks for clearing it up.
