Battle Mage Secrets: Silenced Summoners - All I Need Is The Collection Expansion Without The Abilities

Hi all, hope all is well for you and it is time for another Battle Mage Secrets. Last week, we looked a ruleset which restricts severely restrict the collection by a significant amount as we end up with only being able to use the neutral cards. Today, we look at a ruleset that should not be foreign to players whom had been playing for quite a while.

Silenced Summoners

Description:

• Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.
• Use your lowest cost and highest level summoner within this ruleset.

What thrives with this ruleset?
Summoners abilities do help to define the kind of lineup that we put up for each match. Some alter stats, some give special abilities, some even create a play style dedicated to it.

So in this ruleset, there is no longer such situation, everyone will be level set and all it takes is for the cards to do their role with their own innate abilities without the boost from their summoners. And it is in such a situation, I like it when we can have the best of both worlds or additional collection that we can tap to. But nevertheless, your picked summoner still has to be of a certain level in order to utilize the corresponding higher level in the cards to their best.

So in today's sharing, I will be sharing from a battle where additional collection actually helped give the advantage one needed.

With these in mind, let's start to talk about the battle proper.

Super Sneak, Silenced Summoners, Corrosive Fog

Mana Limit: 50

Opponent Lineup

• Summoner - Helios Matriach
• Position 1 - Grimbardun Fighter
• Position 2 - Disintegrator
• Position 3 - Possessed Puppet
• Position 4 - Ravenhood Warden
• Position 5 - Helheim Demon
• Position 6 - Dumacke Orc

Prediction before pressing rumble
2 very different lineup being played. My opponent prepared some defence in the form of Ravenhoon for protection, Helheim Demon to divert attacks and Grimbardun and Disintegrator to shield up and reduce my melee attack.

On my end, I setup a front and back thorns lineup with the centre doing damage. 2 double attackers in the form of Raa and Carnage Titan while Silent Sha-vi and Trapp are intended to strike hard with their heavy attacks.

Will my opponents attack reduction come up on tops or my thorns will bite into their flesh?

Battle Synopsis

Round 1, An unknowing Possessed Puppet struck on Cursed Windeku and ended up self destructed while many others attempted as well and got hurt. While cursed Windeku health is low, it did what it needed to, to let my attackers have a taste of their own medicine.

Round 2, Trapp opens the round by finishing off Helheim Demon and grow in Blood Lust. Then the sneak attacks continued and Cursed Windeku fell after multiple strikes. Due to Disintegrator, many of my attacks did not go through.

Round 3, Everything picked off real quick with Trapp smashing Dumacke Orc, while Silent Sha-vi clears Ravenhood and Raa clearing Disintegrator. Finally the killer was not done my attack but a thorns return on Grimbardun Fighter. And with that the match completes and I secured another amazing win!

Post Battle Summary
Yay! What an exciting match when 2 players used 2 different strategies to hope for the win. Somehow I manage to come up on tops and secure the win I needed with both death and dragon splinter cards.

Did my strategy work? Yes it totally did. I was planning for this outcome and hence I decided to use Dragon summoner so as to be able to gather both Djinn Chwala and Cursed Windeku together to land my double thorns strategy. Carnage Titan, Raa, Trapp and Silent Sha-vi all served as the attackers of the squad to nail down the various cards accordingly and all of them did well in the positions to get the positive result that I was hoping for.

What's the Battle Mage Secret?

Today's Battle Mage Secret is very simple. Because of the lack of stat or ability boost by summoners in this ruleset. We are very dependent on the abilities and the stat line of the cards themselves to win the game.

So with this understanding, we need to expand our choices and have more cards for choosing to handle the other secondary or tertiary rulesets. Today because I used dragon summoners, I was able to gather the dragon clan down to support the battle which allowed me to secure a good win.

Not just the dragon summoners, dual coloured summoners are great too so explore these summoners and let your team do their magic.
