Earth element is a strong strategy to use in terms of magic damage difference. The only disadvantage about this element is that most units are in low speed, which means you can only fully utilize this on certain rule sets like reverse speed. If you assume that the opponent will use magic attacks then earth element and choosing Immortalis is a good choice.

Good day everyone and Splinterlands community. Today's Blog highlight will be the Immortalis summoner combo with Grund and Arkemis the Bear in this rule set given.

Immortalis

Decrease 1 health to opponent units and give Void and Shatter abilities to friendly units.

I chose this over the dragon element because I assumed the opponent would use Chaos Dragon and prioritize using magic attacks strategy. I want to avoid using range units because it might be possible that the opponent will use Quix the Devious summoner.

The rule set given is Close Range, Equal Opportunity, and Tis but Scratches with 57 mana-cap. Fire, Water, and Life elements are inactive in this battle.
In this case, the dragon element is helpful for extra cards to choose from and combine with the Earth element, but I have this feeling that the opponent will use the dragon element and prioritize using magic strategy. My plan would be using melee attacks and support for healing and taunting strategy.

My Simple Plan Line up

First position - Pelacor Mercenary
  • Act as a tank in the First Position, with useful abilities that can heal itself per round, and Reatliatte ability will trigger by chance if the opponent uses melee attacks.
Second position - Arkemis the Bear
  • Will act as main damage and support debuff to opponent it hits because of Halving ability and has 4 melee damage, and will increase because of enrage ability if it is not in full health.
Third position - Grund
  • My main damage of my team with 4 melee damage and the useful ability of Double Strike that can do twice attacks, and will trigger trample ability if the opponent unit gets executed by this unit and will attack again.
Fourth position - Mycelic Slipspawn
  • I want the opponent to attack this unit with Taunt ability because I want to utilize strategy with my Queen Mycelia that will heal this unit, hoping it will survive most of the rounds.
Fifth position - Goblin Psychic
  • Acts as a support unit of my team that helps a chance of applying affliction to enemy units hits and will stop healing. Debuffing opponent magic damage by 1 which is pretty useful in this match.
Last position - Queen Mycelia
  • Another support of my team, which will heal the Mycelic Slipspawn with the help of the Triage ability and some useful abilities like Rust and Protect that will give extra protection and debuff to opponent units' armor.

Selecting a useful ability in this battle with a good amount of damage will increase your chances of victory in this type of rule set.

Will my strategy line up work?

The opponent summons Akane, which is a fairly powerful summoner, particularly when you choose to Ambush two specific units. The opponent also uses Chaos Dragon and Rage, which are stronger units when used in together with the Martyr lineup. However, this is all in line with my expectations that the opponent will prioritize using magic damage, giving me the advantage when it comes to damage difference. Lets see if this Ambush ability by Akane will turn side of luck.

Since every unit in the battle has the Void ability and I saw that the opponent's frequent use line was a magic attack, I assumed that the opponent was trying to counter magic, therefore the magic dragon had no chance against my plan using immortalis unit.

What could we learn from this strategy?

If you carefully review the opponent's past battle lineup, you will have a good chance of winning the match since you will know what you should use in the battle and can take advantage of the rules, whether it be by using an ability or by baiting the opponent.

This is another simple strategy yet helpful for certain matches in the Earth line-up element, feel free to check my other blog that uses the Water element which I commonly use, and hope this could help you in the battle. 😊
