Amaryllis is a tricky plant originating from Central and South America, a perennial plant, intended for indoor and garden conditions.
It blooms once a year. If you keep it in the apartment over the winter, it will bloom in February or March.
If the bulb is planted in February, it will bloom in April or May.
We have this flower in our cottage. We used to keep it in the apartment, but due to the need to bring the plants to room temperature, we gave up growing it on the terrace (very small for the pot in which Amaryllis grows).
It has large bulbs and produces a tall stem and very beautiful flowers.
After the flowers develop into a trumpet shape, with different flower colors, depending on the seed crossing and division of the carpels, they can last 2 to 3 weeks.
Amaryllis is a very demanding flower due to the necessary attention to nutrition, proper watering and storage during cold winter days.
That demandingness and obligation around him can be a burden to a man.
I think he flourishes only for those who have love for him 🙂

She likes Amaryllis a lot, so by crossbreeding she got a white flower with a red border.

It's my first time of hearing of this flower, it seems good to keep at home, it has an admirable bulb.
It is a pity that it blooms only once a year and that the flower lasts only three weeks.
