I started writing a new story, and today, on my way to work, I wrote another chapter.

Here is how the last part has ended:
And when we had almost no hope or energy left, my younger brother asked a simple, but very important question.
If those monsters appear because of evil, then maybe we should bring more kindness into the world so they disappear? Maybe we just need to do more good deeds?”
Silence fell. We all thought about it. And in fact - it made sense.
According to Maurice, those monsters couldn’t be killed with ordinary weapons. Even the weapons used by Maurice and his comrades had no effect on them. In other words, there was no weapon that could destroy them.
We had no other choice. And my brother’s words sounded so right. But now we had to figure out how to make people kinder. How could we inspire people to do more good deeds?
We decided to make a list of the simplest acts of kindness:
Say thank you and please.
Offer your seat and help the elderly.
Don’t yell and don’t argue.
Pick up your trash and don’t litter.
Don’t steal.
Don’t fight.
Don’t cross the road on a red light.
We printed the list and decided to post it in every district. Maurice’s comrades agreed to help us.
At first, very few people read the list or followed it. But soon, more and more videos began appearing online showing monsters vanishing the moment people performed good deeds or said kind words.
And so, through a united effort, good triumphed over evil. Crime in the world decreased. And Maurice now complains that life has become a little boring - because he and his comrades no longer have anyone to fight or protect the world from.

The End.
