The last elevator button led somewhere that wasn’t on the map.
I accidentally pressed the button for the 10th floor, but it took me to the 11th. When the doors opened, I was far from the ground. It was like heaven; a vast world in the clouds where the sun radiated a golden glow. In the distance, I could see a rainbow above a ziggurat made of gold.
There was no oxygen there. I felt like I couldn't breathe as I floated inside the elevator car. I quickly reached for the control panel and pressed the button for the 1st floor. The doors closed, and I felt the car begin to descend at maximum speed. The G-force slammed me against the elevator ceiling.
When the doors opened, I was back in the lobby of my apartment building.
