Al momento de hablar de hipertrofia uterina debemos entender primero que significa la palabra hipertrofia en sí.

Cuando nos referimos a la palabra hipertrofia muscular, o simplemente a hipertrofia, hacemos énfasis en su definición médica. Se refiere al excesivo crecimiento o aumento descontrolado de un grupo celular, esto puede ocurrir en cualquier parte del organismo pues recordemos que nuestro cuerpo se compone de células.

When talking about uterine hypertrophy we must first understand what the word hypertrophy itself means. When we refer to the word muscular hypertrophy, or simply hypertrophy, we emphasize its medical definition. It refers to the excessive growth or uncontrolled increase of a cell group, this can occur in any part of the body because we remember that our body is made up of cells.

Es por ello que, al momento de decir que hay una hipertrofia uterina signficia que hay un exceso de crecimiento celular en el útero.

That is why, at the time of saying that there is a uterine hypertrophy, it means that there is an excess of cell growth in the uterus.

Es común saber que el útero tiende a poder crecer de forma fisiológica por la presencia de un embarazo o cuando llega la menstruación, en su estado normal mide aproximadamente de 6 a 8 cm. Así mismo podemos diagnosticar cuando existe una hipertrofia uterina, el hecho de que exista no significa que sea patológico, sin embargo si una mujer llegase a presentar un crecimiento descontrolado de su útero más allá de los parámetros normales en donde no existe una condición fisiológica que lo desencadene (como el embarazo), es necesario realizar un estudio detallado para descartar cualquier patología a través de la cantidad de células y sus cambios.

It is common to know that the uterus tends to be able to grow physiologically due to the presence of a pregnancy or when menstruation arrives, in its normal state it measures approximately 6 to 8 cm. Likewise, we can diagnose when there is a uterine hypertrophy, the fact that it exists does not mean that it is pathological, however if a woman were to present an uncontrolled growth of her uterus beyond the normal parameters where there is no physiological condition that triggers (such as pregnancy), it is necessary to carry out a detailed study to rule out any pathology through the number of cells and their changes.

Por otro lado, cuando existe un crecimiento excesivo del útero y es por razones patológicas, la causa más común suele ser por tumores benignos dentro del útero.

On the other hand, when there is an excessive growth of the uterus and it is for pathological reasons, the most common cause is usually benign tumors within the uterus.

Con referencia a lo anterior, al existir problemas dentro de la capa mucosa que recubre al útero por la parte interna esto puede ocasionar diversos problemas en el organismo de la mujer, entre estos signos y síntomas podemos encontrar:

Metrorragia

La metrorragia es cualquier sangrado que es procedente del útero, no está asociado al ciclo menstrual por lo que se debe saber distinguir cuando es sangrado por menstruación y cuando es sangrado por hemorragia.

Inflamación y dolor

Por lo general estas pacientes suelen presentar problemas de inflamación y dolor en la parte del abdomen.

Flujo vaginal

El flujo vaginal se ve alterado, por lo que su consistencia suele aumentar de forma drástica.

Dispareunia

A la mujer se le suele dificultar el poder tener y mantener relaciones sexuales durante el coito y/o luego del mismo.

With reference to the above, as there are problems within the mucous layer that covers the uterus on the inside, this can cause various problems in the woman's body, among these signs and symptoms we can find:

Metrorrhagia

Metrorrhagia is any bleeding that comes from the uterus, it is not associated with the menstrual cycle, so it must be known to distinguish when it is menstruation bleeding and when it is bleeding due to hemorrhage.

Swelling and pain

In general, these patients tend to present problems of inflammation and pain in the abdomen.

Vaginal discharge

The vaginal discharge is altered, so its consistency usually increases drastically.

Dyspareunia

It is often difficult for women to have and maintain sexual intercourse during and / or after intercourse.

La forma correcta de tratar esta patología es a través de consultas especializadas y programadas con tu ginecólogo. Así mismo el médico podrá valorar el daño ocasionado por el crecimiento excesivo del útero, a su vez también realizará diversos estudios como ecografías vaginales, exámenes de laboratorio, valoración física y mental, biopsias, entre otros estudios que sean necesarios.

The correct way to treat this pathology is through specialized and scheduled consultations with your gynecologist. Likewise, the doctor will be able to assess the damage caused by the excessive growth of the uterus, in turn will also perform various studies such as vaginal ultrasound, laboratory tests, physical and mental evaluation, biopsies, among other studies that are necessary.

Cuando la mujer está en su edad fértil se trata de salvar el útero a través del tratamiento indicado por el médico, de lo contrario de no tener una cura se debe realizar una histerectomía.

When the woman is in her childbearing age, it is about saving the uterus through the treatment indicated by the doctor, otherwise, if there is no cure, a hysterectomy should be performed.

Es importante que realices tus consultas ginecológicas al menos dos veces al año, para así prevenir patologías en tu sistema reproductor femenino.
