Between August and September of that year around 30 million Hive were converted to HBD when the latter was overpriced on the market for more than a month. About one year's inflation was removed from circulation via Hive to HBD conversions, plus the amount automatically converted to HBD in the DHF. That is how Hive was deflationary in 2021.
