I've written about this 30 Day blockchain blogging challenge (inspired by National Blog Posting Month aka NaBloPoMo challenge) a number of times over the past few years, so this time around I'm going to keep this announcement post short and sweet. Well, short for me...😂

What exactly is Hive Blog Posting Month?

- Post daily on the Hive Blockchain for the month of November 2021
- Win the amazeballs feeling of having 30 new posts earning crypto on the Hive blockchain!
Is there a community for HiveBloPoMo?
I'm so glad you asked, because YES! As of today, there is a brand spanking new community devoted to this twice a year initiative.
What else is going on for November?
Two other 30 day initiatives spring to mind -
Hive Power Up Month by @hivebuzz - power up every day during the month, either by powering up at least 1 Hive, or setting your post payouts to 100% Hive Power. Check out this post for details - Bee ready for the 2nd Hive Power Up Month challenge!
National Podcast Post Month by @epodcaster - Another one inspired by NaNoWriMo (as was NaBloPoMo & HiveBloPoMo), but instead of working towards a 50K novel, you podcast every day for the month of November. Check out this post for details - Is NaPodPoMo (National Podcast Post Month ) For Me?
Also, it would be a perfect time to try for the @hivebuzz Monthly Author Badge. Here is a bit about it from the HiveBuzz website -
Keep in mind that a month begins the first of the month and ends the last day of the month (like on calendars), and that HiveBuzz uses UTC time to validate when you published your post! It is not a date to date month. If you miss one post on one day, you will miss this monthly award and you will have to wait for the next month to try to obtain this badge again.
What should I post about?
I've been meaning to do this for ages, and I've finally put it together! Here's a calendar page with prompts (some Hive specific) for each day. Please remember these are just suggestions and don't feel obligated to use them -

What do I win if I do all 30 posts?
As I said in the short description, you win the amazeballs feeling of completing the challenge and having 30 new posts on the blockchain! But as I've done for every other BloPoMo, I plan to do a little something to help keep everyone motivated and/or thank them for their participation.
I'm not sure I can swing any sort of badges at this point, but now that there's a community, I plan to investigate that next. And since I'm a curator for @ocd, I will be keeping an eye on posts in the HiveBloPoMo community and might be able to recommend a few for curation through OCD's Niche Community Initiative.

Yanno, I have never managed to complete NaNoWriMo... in part because I pretty much suck at writing fiction. But this might actually be something I have a realistic chance of completing.
I'm gonna join the community and give it a whirl!

I've managed NaNoWriMo six or seven times (but not recently). Not because I suck any less at writing fiction, I just managed pretty well with longs bits of dialog. However the resulting manuscripts are still essentially just gathering dust on my hard drive because I suck even more at revision. 😂

Awesome, @dodovietnam! And yep, just post every day, and if you want to go for the Hive Buzz Monthly Author badge at the same time, make sure it's during the UTC hours (for example, I'm going to set 5pm my time as my daily deadline, to make sure I don't miss it).

But that's the cool thing about this, @ninahaskin - since it's mostly a personal challenge, you can jump in whenever you like! Maybe your goal could be 30 posts by the end of the month, and do a couple posts for a couple of days to catch up. And if that's something not doable for you at the moment, never fear - this will happen again in April, 2022 (which, scary to think, isn't really all that far away...😮 😂). Oh, and thanks for calling it awesome! 🥰
Love this idea! I've managed to write every day for a month a couple of times now according to my badges. I might give it a try this time aswell. Either way, I'll be remembering your post ideas, as those are always handy on the not-so-creative days 😊🤗
Cool I suppose it doesn't hurt to participate in this as I already challenged myself starting yesterday to make a post for 365 days straight to see where that leads me. <3
To be honest writing and reading aren't my strengths... if anything I'd even call it a weakness so this project is something unique for me to see how I develop as a "writer/content creator"
Yeah I think in these type of spaces it is all about networking and building relationships... well not just these spaces but in life as a whole lol.
I always try to make my post with the best quality posible, it's something that takes me lot of time and effort, also (maybe) I write too much and my articles are kind of long lol Nevertheless I dig this idea, I don't promise anything but I'll give it a try and let's see what happens

I got informed of this initiative via a post made by @kemmyb and I wasn't so sure I'll be able to participate but reading this post and seeing that there is a calendar, I think I just might make it. So here's to me challenging myself!

A couple of questions: to participate, do you have to post on The HiveBloPoMo Community specifically or can you just use a certain #tag? If the first is true, is crossposting accepted?

Just using the #HiveBloPoMo tag is fine - posting in the community is more for extra visibility & to make it easier for participants to find each other. And yes, crossposting is absolutely okay.

Absolutely! About the only thing you'll miss out on by not posting on the first (during UTC time) is the Hive Buzz Monthly Author badge. The Hive Blog Posting Month initiative is more about challenging ourselves to do our best to post every day. Good luck with tomorrow! 😊
Ok! Actually, I did post something on Nov 1st, but I didn't use the tag in that one because I didn't intend to post it as part of the contest, but I wonder if it's a matter of the hive buzz system to tell if that qualifies. After all I've been posting every day because I have a daily series.
