Back in early 2018 when the Silver Gold Stackers community launched its curation project on the (then) STEEM blockchain, the account @ssg-community that was to be used for voting was given a persona – Precious the Silver Mermaid. While initially the persona was created as a bit of branding for the project, there have been a few attempts over the years to give her a bit of character and style. Recently I’ve been playing with the Arty AI bot set up by @ausbitbank so I decided to see if I could generate some nice art for Precious. I’m keen to hear what members of the community think about it.

The Silver Gold Stackers community often enjoys playing with a bit of pirate theme and while it’s died off a bit recently, the #piratesunday tag was fairly popular in years gone by. So this first image was an attempt to try and get a shot of Precious waving (hailing) to a pirate ship caught in a storm. A metaphor (if you like) for how Precious Metals can be a bit of a safe haven in times of trouble. I had a bit of difficulty with her hands in particular as the AI does seem to struggle with fingers and some of it’s attempts frequently have mutations. The one above is my favourite attempt. It actually looks like she’s doing the rock horns….but that kinda fits, so yeh, whatever works?

This second one was an underwater shot where I tried to get her swimming and talking to the red fish. This was intended to be another metaphor for how she helps the little accounts here on HIVE to get going with stacking and building an account up with her supporting upvotes. It’s a long standing convention on HIVE to rate accounts based on their size, from minnow (smallest) to red fish, dolphins and whales (biggest) so that’s where the idea came. It didn’t quite come out the way I intended, but she looks gorgeous in this picture so I thought it was a keeper too.

I’ve been meaning to get to posting a few promo posts from the @ssg-community account to try and give it a bit of a push since we have a bit of momentum. The project has been doing reasonably well lately with a few members coming on board to support the project, but it could always do better. What do people think about using AI in this way to help bring Precious the Silver Mermaid to life and help build a profile for her? Does anyone have any great ideas for what we could get her doing in other pictures to help build out her persona?
