SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bar

Since prices dropped the other day I thought I would step away from collecting a bit and go back to stackin'. So I headed over the the Monument Metals website and picked up some silver bars.

I'll be sharing those over the next few days as my purchasing for my coin collection has slowed down for the time being due to some recent home expenses.

The first bar I would like to share is one I think I have seen around here before, which is the Silver Towne 1oz Buffalo Silver bar.

The bar has the resemblance to the traditional buffalo nickel from the U.S. mint produced from 1913 and 1938.

My photography skills still suck horribly. I also need to learn to stage the subject of the photo better. The second one even ended up with a hair on it if you didn't notice.

I am not sure how I can prevent that glare of the silver. I have tried with and without flash and lighting. This is the best it comes out, which is with low light and flash combined.

I think my future stacking purchases will also be bars and maybe rounds, no more coins. I have too much of a fondness for coins and get too attached to them. I want to be able to seperate myself from the contents of my stack with no angst whatsoever when the time comes.

Do you have any special attachment to anything in your stack that would make it hard for you to sell off or melt down? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks,
Joe

I've avoided flash lighting, I currently use soft cool CFC lighting from three different directions for most photography.
Hardest silver to give up would be most of my poured art silver since they mostly come from people I have known by trading, giveaway prizes and gifts. Some are coins.

Therefore, I'm working on a secret Viking funeral. ⚔️

My special silver, no way! I'm taking it with me. 😘

Hardest to give up would be the older Japanese coins. Easiest would be any rounds. That's a nice bar there. I need to order some. I've never seen any bars in the coin shop here. Maybe in a bigger city like Tokyo..

Yeah, any of my coins, especially the ones from the 1800 and 1700s would be near impossible for me to part with. I just love the hobby too much. Some of those older Japanese coins of yours are beautiful, I wouldn't want to part with them either.

Do you like that site that you used to buy them? I have been looking for something that will allow me to buy smaller quantities now that APMEX upped their limits to get free shipping. I just don't buy that much at one time.

Yes, and Monument Metals is cheaper than APMEX as well.

Oh cool. I will bookmark it now!

I get attached to coins too. Rounds and bars I just don't feel all that much attachment, I agree with you there. That's a nice bar! I should probably start buying more again soon, I've been dumping a lot into retirement lately more than stacking. My health may push me into retirement sooner than later unfortunately!

I try to look at my stack like a post-retirement investment now as well as something for the family to divest after I am gone if they wish.

That's how I see it too, especially as we're getting older that realization becomes more and more clear...

Classics , I got a few
