2nd layer smart contract tokens are likely to be the easiest solution to the economics problem you're bringing up. And to make sure that the Hive token holders benefit from the work done to develop it, there should be an airdrop of the gas token for such a smart contract system on Hive holders. I've got some early ideas about how this would all work, but prototypes need to be built to fully explore the idea space properly.
