RE: Unlocking Hive's potential for social media - pre-announement of DeepHive

in HiveDevs2 years ago

I don't know about other curation projects, but curangel doesn't make profits at all. For now I'll be able to cover the expenses and (slow) development through the witness. If I drop out, price drops a lot more, or we get to a point where we need a lot more manpower, we'll have to see.

The dhf has a lot of room for more projects, provided it's regarded as more important than the HBD stabilizer.

Sort:

Most of them don't, because they return to the delegations, that is the issue mostly :S if that approach were to be made, it would have to be funded initially by someone, and it would just keep going with the growth of the voting power, that is why it has never been done before. I have told that before xD and be answered that. So far is a solid argument, but i will keep trying saying that solution xD eventually, some day, it could be possible.

Well, if you take the cost of your work at a low cost and program most of it basically on your own, it would take a lot of time but at least it would make it cheaper on the dhf, and less difficult to get funded.

I'm not in favour of projects using the posting reward pool to finance themselves, so that adds another hurdle.

Personally, I don't work for money but to create something, so a baseline would be covered. But I can't work out the algorithms all by myself for example, and when we add a front-end to the mix the amount of coding necessary just demands for more developers to get involved.

I failed once bringing a project that big (well, actually it was bigger and required more external knowledge than now) to life here, because I couldn't find contributors. That's why I started posting about it now, to see if there's positive feedback from people who would be able to help.
I'll definitely keep dabbling on it for a while now, and long term has to be seen.

My knowledge in coding is crappy to say the least, I'm kind of smart, but I originally studied mathematics on collage up to half the career, yet ended up going with accounting because I failed to adapt to the reality of Venezuela, it was either study or starve, and I ended up choosing the not starve, for obvious reasons, eventually I was left unable to graduate at all... But i do keep an eye for ideas like these in Hive, because all good seeds must be supported, even if my support is basically nothing, as a small account, yet i could at least do moral support and brainstorming :)

Anyway, any kind of funding is good to my eyes, but i do see how post revenue and reward pool as funding could be a bad idea at so many levels...
