How can you get the most out of your time, energy, and effort?

Ease is indeed essential in our lives. Going simple can be a great way to relax and relieve stress, whether on a camping trip without phones, computers, or stoves or just a night in with a book and a fire.

Disentanglement is a valuable resource that can help you relax. Cutting down on unnecessary information (like the phone, kids, parents, loud sounds, bright lights, phones, PCs, or anything else) and focusing on something simple (like kids, music, or PCs) helps me relax.

I sometimes feel too much knowledge, delays, and the fast pace of modern life while writing. Sometimes, we need to streamline, even only for a few hours. This can help the body and physical structure prepare for another busy day. It works for me anyway. How about you?

How could I use this in my life at any time?

What do we need to live? There are the basics: food, drink, clothes, and a place to stay. Then there are a few more: relationships with other people, information/training, and health. When we go beyond the basic needs, we often make things more complicated than they need to be.

Some things improve life, so we trade more complexity for another benefit. The modern clothes washer works much better than taking your clothes to the stream and beating them on rocks. The tricky part is when we want to add power, pipes, and sewers to make it work. Everyone I know would only think twice about making that trade, but it needs to be clarified.

When does having too many details become too much? That is a very personal choice that depends on your strengths and your ability to handle complexity. I do best with complexity when I'm limited in some ways. For the rest of my life, I want things to be easy. I'm not going back to the days of washboards and lamps (except for setting up camp at the end of the week), but I do end up smoothing out my complexities in several ways.

My gadgets are becoming more like tools instead of toys I play with. Although I enjoy making PC systems, I'll probably buy my next one, which has already been customized. The same will happen with my next PC. This one is only eight years old, so it still has some life left for posting and reading websites.

Cut down on. I don't need to go through the stress and trouble of finding all the specs, ensuring the thing works great, getting all the drivers, etc. I am on the test simultaneously, but I do better with my time these days.

How can you get the most out of your time, energy, and effort?

Look at your life. What do you do that's not good for you? There must be other great resources for different parts of your life; look for what you need. You can use web search tools with you.

What part of your life do you need to relax, cut back, lessen, or stop? What led you to the level of complexity you have now, and what are your new reasons for wanting to lower it? Are you now free of the need, or do you need to find another way to meet that need after this piece of complexity?

Consider it carefully and develop ideas, such as handling the extra significant investment that used to go into the complexity you just simplified. You should try this repeatedly until you feel better about yourself. If you want to know if you need to change things, do it every year.

You make the choice, and it's your life. Try something, see how it works, and then make some changes. There you more than you thought. Don't feel bad about putting it back; there is such a wonderful thing as "excessively little," and it's a personal choice similar to "excessively."
