Getting Custom / Reblog Lottery DUO Bonus

Welcome in this post I share some stuff I made for silver lynx, he is a Canadain pourer, I met and tried to onboard from X and even bought some silver pours from him.

Well he wanted to see if I can make him some molds so he can take his casting to the next level with custom pour offerings.

I tried my hand with the pouring and shared the story in a blog post a while back, I had a bad set up and had some technical difficulties with my electric breaker tripping and it seemed like my breaker could not handle the printers and the furnace going all at once, so I failed and gave up for that attempt but it was not for nothing, I learned and improved and will be trying my hand at it soon.

Let's start with another fail, This was my first resin print that I also talked about in a blog post, it came out very nice but I broke it taking off the supports, I realized I made it a bit too thin.

I would give it another go adding a new thicker version to be printed with my print part but it didn't come out great for some reason.

Right bellow is version I printed with the regular filament printers with a fine 0.2 nozzle, it came out fairly well.

It's a challenger round he wanted me to design I ain't got a clue what it's about, and right below is the other side, he provided me with some pictures and I used them to make the design, I tried to make this a 1 oz finished product so I hope that works out.

And here is another thing he wanted, some army thingy and it is supposed to be 2 oz of silver

Now to some lessons, here is the 3d design I did for him and it's for his silver lynx logo I made into a 3d model for him.

Notice the nut on the back that is what I learned from my failed attempts, It was very hard to extract the models from the sand and so I heat set a nut so after words a screw can be put in and used to extract the piece easier and cleaner from the casting sand.

This one is printed with a 0.2 nozzle and came out great I also printed it out of ASA a strong material. I also included my system that can potentially make it easier to make the pours the target weight, I hope that it works well and if it can be scaled, it will be a game changer to the pouring game.

I also gave it ago with the PVB material that can be smoothed out with alcohol, I gave it a try and it did the trick but it also drowns out the details, I think it would be better for sculpture type pieces, but I wanted to give them a lot to experiment so we can see what works best
