The past week, I've been bringing gifts to my colleagues (including mentors, coresidents, and nurses). My Mom generously gave her time to choose some of the gifts, inclusive of several boxes of Ferrero Roche - which I've heard are quite delicious, but can't eat myself due to a nut allergy. Anyway, I'm good at paying for the gifts, while my Mom is good at choosing them lol!
Lots of goodwill and happiness spread around this week. Tomorrow we have Secret Santa for the graduating residents (in which I'm participating), so that's going to be a nice little holiday blast-off before my vacation begins.
Thus far, I've managed to successfully dodge eating any sweets or junk food. I'm pretty sure I'll let a bit loose during the holiday - which is ok, because I've been rather good with my diet over the past year, and certainly have the body fat levels to show for it. Moderation is ideal, but I tend to take it a little bit further, and I think that helps me empathize with others who struggle with maintaining their own weight.
Well, that went a bit off topic.
Let's keep the holiday spirit going. Happy Holidays to everyone on Hive!

That's nice of you. When I was in residency all of my "mentors" were Jewish so no gifts were needed for Christmas! lol Make sure to enjoy some, moderation is hard to do though!
Merry Christmas.
