Catch Me If You Can
If you don't know me,
you won't get the chance.
For I am elusive as hell.
I move in and out of your perimeter,
you see.
I meander through your consciousness
in order to advance.
I am your shadow. Your veil. Or am I?
You are in bondage, while I'm free.
And you truly don't hunger to know me.
For I am in you the savage.
The beast within.
What I can whisper is that
if you delve deep enough,
you'll see a version of
yourself.
In me.
I reflect what you project.
And thrive on secrecy.
On staying one step ahead of discovery.
I'm isolated.
And I the intimacy in that knowing.
Keeps things interesting, you see.
Try to figure out who I am.
Slow me down.
I'm on the lam.
For God's sake, catch me if you can.
I was inspired to write a poem for my current mixed media art project. The image I discovered portrayed the distorted figure of a man who appears to be running or chasing an invisible person or object. Immediately my thoughts turned to "Catch Me If You Can!"
I knew beforehand that I wanted the background to be stark as if in the scene the man is devoid of form or substance as he travel though time and space.
Below are my procedures:
I utilized Canva to blend the different type images. I leave with you my procedures which begin with a blank, white canvas. I then add layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, resize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items as required. Perhaps of all the tools, the ability to remove backgrounds thereby creating transparencies of the images is crucial to the blending process.
Images included in my project are listed below:
Abstract black and white room ~ Monster male ~ Black/gray speckled background ~ Black background w/gray box and black brush on upper left side ~ Scary plate - Contributed to the #LIL by @redheadpei
I share with you my completed project:

Again, thought provoking though terrifying!
Like the title of this, I love how the image and the poem sync. You are just too good at what you do 😍
